    Default Boob job recovery/flying alone

I'm getting my boobs done in one month (salines) and am traveling to Pousti's office in San Diego from Oregon for the procedure. I've had butt augmentation in the past and I for sure could not have done that alone (I could barely walk).

As of now I'm debating if I should fly out a friend to join me when I have the procedure done. I don't want to spend the extra money but if the recovery is really difficult alone then I will. Will I not be able to carry anything at all? That's what it seems like from what I've been reading, but then again I've heard of women successfully doing this alone, but I don't see how that can be possible if you can barely use your arms.

What are your experiences with this? Is it worth me bringing a friend out with me and spending the extra $$ or is it a pretty basic surgery with an easy recovery? I've had spine surgery (not cosmetic obviously) and butt implants, both hard recoveries so this sounds like cake in comparison. But that still doesn't determine whether or not I'll need the extra help.

Also, I live alone. Will I need to stay with someone else for a couple weeks after surgery or will I likely be fine?

I know these are questions to ask my doctor lol but it's different for everyone so I'd like to hear your experiences, thanks

When I got my boob job done, the recovery was extremely painful and difficult (i'm being completely honest with you!). After I woke up from the surgery I didn't feel anything because I was all drugged up. But after the drugs wore off, it felt like I had huge boulders on my chest. I could barely move. The only position I felt comfortable in was laying on my bed with my head tilted up. Whenever I had to get up out of bed, it was so painful. It was such a struggle to get up and move around because my muscles were so sore. It took all my strength to get up out of bed and walk around with what felt like 100 pound weights on my chest.

I had a friend come with me to my procedure and he helped me during the few days after. I'm so glad he did, I could have never done it alone! He would get stuff for me so I didn't have to get out of bed. He helped me move around and pick things up for me. I would HIGHLY recommend bringing a friend along to help you. Especially if you are traveling by plane! The recovery is difficult enough, but having to fly would make it even more difficult. It would be worth it to bring a friend.

Every time I've had my boobs done they insist that you have someone to take care of you and they have to meet the person because they will not operate on you and then let you just get in a taxi alone. You need someone to give you your pills at the right times and everything too. You have to have someone monitor you for like 24 hours after the anesthesia.

I personally was completely incapacitated for days after my first surgery but I know other girls who were up and moving okay quicker. I would absolutely not be hauling around luggage though, you don't realize how often you use your pecs until they're filleted. Can you mail the majority of your luggage home before you leave so all you have to deal with is a carry on on the way home?

What is your plan as of now? I know that you will definitely need to be released to someone.

I had a breast lift/aug and I will say it was the easiest recovery of any surgeries I have had. I definitely needed help for the first 48 hours but after that I was good. I think the hard part of mine was the lift. I have friends that have had normal boob jobs and are fine at the end of the day.

If I were you, I would being a friend and stay 72 hours. San Diego is expensive right now bc it is summer but you should be able to find a 3.5 star hotel in Mission Valley for a reasonable price.

If bringing a friend is not an option, look into a recovery house in Tijuana. I have heard that they even go to LA to pick up patients. They are much cheaper than going to a recovery facility in the states.

My plan as of now is to fly out my friend, probably your idea of 72 hours should be fine. Thanks for the idea of the recovery house as I had not thought of that.

When I got my boobs done I really needed someone there with me for my recovery. My bf at the time would make sure I took my meds at the right time, helped me get in an out of bed, brought me food and water and even helped me get to the bathroom and pull my pants down lol. I was so drugged up and out of it I wouldn't have been able to do any of that on my own. My chest was so tight there was no way I could even lift myself up out of bed either. My sister came over at one point to wash my hair in the sink because it was so greasy and I could barely move lol.

But exactly a week after my surgery I was feeling great. I finally took a shower and even got a spray tan. So I would probably want to wait like 4 or 5 days before going home and I would definitely want someone there with me to help.

And ya get a hotel in mission valley because that's super close to the hospital you're getting them done at and they should be reasonably priced.

If you're going under the muscle, no way should you go alone! You're going to need help even doing small simple things.

I got mine done almost 3 weeks ago. I flew to Miami alone but stayed at a recovery house. If there wasn't that option I would have hired a private nurse. On the flight back (3 days later) I ordered wheelchair assistance so I didn't have to carry anything or walk too far. Before I left my apt to go to Miami I brought all my food and things higher up in the pantry & medicine cabinet down on the counter so I could get to it. I got LOADS of tips from the girls on RealSelf. Check it out & Good Luck!

See if hiring a private nurse for the first few days would be Cheaper than bringing a gf. I personally brought my gf for my BBL because I needed the company. She was an amazing nurse and used to be a cna.
