So last night I get called on stage and as I’m making my way over there I see a female customer dancing on stage with the dancer before me. When their song ends and it’s my turn, the dancer collects her tips and gets off stage but the customer remains and continues dancing by herself. All her girlfriends are hooting and hollering and the male customers are getting a kick out of it and start throwing money at her. I go up on stage and tap her on the shoulder and politely tell her it’s my turn and to be careful getting off the stage. She completely ignores me and starts spinning on the pole, dancing in front of customers and so on. It’s now about a minute into my first song and she is still on stage. I tell her again, “Sweetie it’s my turn, you can get down now,” and then the DJ starts chiming in over the speaker saying, “If you wanna dance on stage you have to be topless, those are the rules!” So now all the customers are yelling for her to take off her top so she continues dancing. Then she pulls her top down and all the customers throw more money at her and I’m still standing on stage like…. get the F down. My first song ends and finally a floor guy comes over to help her off stage. We have 50-100 girls working almost every night at my club which means I only get to go onstage like 2-3 times a night. ˝ of my set was disrupted by this customer at a FULL stage so I already had it in my mind that I was going to keep the tips being thrown at her. So she gets off stage and goes with her friends and I finally start my set. 30 seconds later a floor guy comes over to the stage with her and goes, “Hey, can she scoop her tips off stage?”
Literally, what in the F?!!
So I look at both of them with such side eye and go, “Are they hers?” He goes, “Yeah she was dancing on stage before you.” So I say, “Yeah to my song.” Then I look at her and ask, “Are you a dancer or a customer?” She goes, “Customer”. Then I tell her, “So you’re here to spend money, not make it.” I continue dancing and they both just stand at my stage looking kind of shocked like I’m the crazy one for telling her no when she took half my set away from me. Honestly if she would’ve just got down on time I would’ve let her take the tips. I don’t like that my club allows civilian women to get up on stage and actually encourages them to participate...like sit the F down and leave it to the professionals.
