I feel like I have a great foundation I just want to get everything in order.
I've mostly been squatting, doing cardio hiking and some lifting 10lbs but I want to build up to lifting more.
I don't each much junk food just cause I don't like it but I eat way too many simple carbs and consume too much sugar even though it's mostly from fruit.
I know I'm probably going to need to cut calories to and lift more to burn fat but what else?

I wish I could afford a trainer rn.

Who knows anything about fitness??? I think this is achievable for my body type- how do I get to this???

Paleo diet and lots of cardio. You can't just spot train one area.

There isn't one correct way to diet. Ultimately, reducing calories will reduce your weight.

Of course you can spot train certain areas. You can't spot reduce fat, but you can build muscle in certain areas while not building it in others.

My best results were with paleo. But then I'm short with a slow metabolism. And I meant spot reducing fat not spot training my bad.

Eat as a much as you want as long as it is fresh fruit and veggies. I tend to snack on carrots and strawberries.

Walking, just walk around, or keep busy. You can always do more, but keeping busy is a good way to keep your body moving.

Water! I've noticed a slight increase in my weight loss since I only drink. ( minus my 2 cups of coffee in the morning )

Now thats about as much as I can tell ya. I dont actually work out or do anything special. But i've managed to get a flat stomach and drop some pounds with doing this.

    Good luck!

I do bodybuilding and there is no such thing as 'toning up' babe. Calories in vs. Calories out is the golden rule for body construction. Also tons of water intake as mentioned above is fantastic for the body. But you're on the right track if you say you want to start lifting more. Resistance or weight training makes the muscles develop and the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn since muscles tap into fat storages for fuel. But you can't build muscle and burn fat at the same time. It's always one or the other that's why there's shredding and bulking seasons. Fat burn = decreased caloric intake + increased exercise. Muscle gain = increased caloric intake + equal exercise. All you have to do is decide what you think your personal needs are and go the route necessary. There's a science behind it all girl and once you've got it down pat you'll be slaying in no time.

Yes, you have a great foundation! Nutrition and regular training are key. I'm a fitness professional (20+ yrs) and ifbb pro bodybuilder (bikini division). Paleo is awesome in the sense that it encourages people to eat more protein and nutrient-dense whole foods but healthy carbs are helpful too in the right amounts. If you want something with more flexibility in terms of the food types, look into how to figure out how many grams of protein, carbs, fats you need each day to match your goals.

Looking at your pics I see "toning up" as shedding body fat while maintaining the muscle you have. Something like paleo (since it's low carb) in addition to metabolic strength training (e.g., circuits) and some cardio (without over doing it) might suit you perfectly.

I don't recommend looking at photos of other people's bodies for goal-setting. Every body is different.
