Default Video Problems Windows movie maker/splitcam

I have been creating a lot of new picture sets and videos and have had no problems using splitcam to capture recordings of my shows, then editing them with windows movie maker...until tonight. I really really really enjoy the dorky behind the scenes stuff like video editing and designing....until tonight!

My videos look crystal clear if I just open them on my computer. Audio is also crystal clear. I have all of my videos saved in wp4 format. I open the videos with windows movie maker, and every video I have tried to edit tonight is coming out pixelated, with delays in audio.

So then I try to be sneaky, and wanted to see how the videos played back with splitcam. Videos are crystal clear, so I figured I would re record them thru splitcam, and then edit the new recordings. Unfortunately, there is no audio playback on splitcam, so all audio would be lost. My sneaky work around did not work out.

I do not know what is going on. When all else fails, restart. That did not help. I have not had problems like this and have been editing vids off and on for about 2 months. I like the dorky behind the scenes stuff, but it takes a lot of self discipline and patience to edit videos, and take stills (saving each one individually with "splitcams upgrade" so at times I put it off until I am in the mood. Tonight I am so in that creative mood, and of course it is not working out. By the time I check this post out for any advice, I guarantee mr pixelated movie maker will be back to normal, and miss splitcam will be playing audio loud and clear, but any advice/help would be so appreciated. I am still in a creative mood, and am working on starting a site with modelcentro. I will thus be shutting both windows movie maker and splitcam off for the evening, and working on editing up some photos for my splash, home and tour pages. Hopefully the video editing scratch will itch me again this weekend. I have been letting videos pile up for a few days now and am behind schedule. Years ago, I had so much content up and out on the internet. I am rebuilding my empire. Years ago, it took me several years to get things up and running with a full website and social media following...well my old ass doesn't have years to wait anymore. I am on a strict deadline. I just thread jacked my own thread lol.

If all else fails, do you ladies know of any free video editors that have the same basic principles as windows movie maker? Thanks!!

Default Re: Video Problems Windows movie maker/splitcam

I went back at it last night and although video is appearing pixelated in movie maker, when the video was saved it was not...but the voice was off slightly. The saga continues. Checked out some of the other posts and forums on movie maker and this seems to be a common issue. No idea how I can edit voice without extracting audio and then implementing that back into the video. Lesigh.
