Default Disputed charges! Is there anything I can do?

UGH! So i walk into work last night to find that apparently, I owe the club 500 bucks because there were fraud charges disputed against one of my customers on June 4th. He seemed like a really nice guy, they were in town hunting bears but they live in Pennsylvania. Me and another girl both did an hour in the Champagne room for him and one of his friends, the charge was something like 1300 altogether. Well apparently they had a stolen card or perhaps they just claimed to have a stolen card and called fraudulent charges and now I apparently have to pay them $500 back. They have the guys ID copied and everything, isn't there anything I can do? This sucks... The club says every time they try to fight it they always lose so they dont even try to contest them anymore. ugh

That's the clubs problem not yours. Do not pay them!

They should be able to also prove it was them on the security cameras.

Do not pay them. That was YOUR money, rightfully made by you. Not your problem.

Absolutely do not pay them. They just don't want to go to court but if you're at good club, this happens ALL THE TIME. It's called having good lawyers, security camera footage of them signing the bill, and copies of the DL and CC (which you said they did). There is no way they would not win.

I agree with the above posters.

It's standard practice for most clubs to copy DL's and credit cards and save them on file to guard against charge-backs. (Such as you described).

Sometimes it's "buyers remorse" or a customer's wife questioning the charges on the statement. The usual excuse is, "Someone fraudulently used my card" and then the charges are disputed with their credit card company.

Your club has to be aggressive in fighting against customers backing out of payment after receiving services. Having the copies helps the club prove that the customers were actually in the club.

Also, what about VIP cameras? If management is smart, they should let the customer know that they have proof and that they are serious about protecting the club. Most guys would not want to have video of them shown in a courtroom.
