Default Losing Weight and Freaking Out a Bit

So I've been trying my damnest to lose weight and it's finally paying off. I got to about 179/180 at my heaviest and was just not totally happy because of my body in certain areas. Well I'm down to 168 after a month and I'm hoping to keep going down to about 140/130.

I'm freaking out though because today I noticed my boobs starting to sag! Back when I was graduating high school they were a 32B and I've shot up to a 34DD and loved them! They've always been extremely perky but today I noticed there was a fold over onto my ribs and then I tried the pen test which I have never been able to do before because of how perky my boobs were. Lo and behold, I can hold a pen under them now.

I'm so sad and freaking out. Will this just get worse the more weight I lose? I've heard exercising helps but more for fullness rather than sagging prevention. I never wear a bra unless I have to which I think is why they were looking so good, so why this problem now? I can't even tell if they still look good I'm so upset over this.

Any advice is appreciate, I'll even post pics if I have to I just feel so upsettttt

It is best to try to lose weight slowly. 1-2 pounds a week at most to keep the skin sagging to a minimum. Your skin has been stretched. I think it is pretty much unavoidable to not have some saggy skin somewhere when you are losing a lot of weight, but I could be wrong. Try massaging cocoa butter lotion into your skin everyday. I heard that is supposed to help with stretch marks and some skin sagging.

Hopefully someone else here will have more advice for you. Good luck and good job on your weight loss.

    A pen test ?!?

Just get a good fitting bra and support your boobs even during sleep and you should be fine. I believe you have to sort of compress the skin as your losing weight to keep it tight and firm so basically no all day topless adventures.

Are you lifting at all? There's a ligament provides support to the boobs and strengthening the muscles in your upper body reduces the load on it and helps to keep them up. I'm a solid b cup but I'm in my thirties and am still perky and while I don't have big boobs I definitely believe years of lifting weights has helped to keep them where they belong. And definitely invest in good bras, especially sports bras, anything you do to provide support and reduce the work that ligament has to do will help.

Yeah, like having kids, losing a good amount of weight will cause once large breasts to sag a bit , it's unavoidable but there's always breast lifts and pec exercises! It will be worth it to lose the weight you want and feel awesome! I work w a lot of girls w sagging boobs and the guys just DO NOT care, boobs are boobs. I'm sure you look great

Thank you so much It makes sense, I just was expecting my boobs to go back to how they were rather than starting to sag, especially since they're still the same size (I'm hoping it's a good thing???). I'm not trying to lose weight quickly, but I watched a documentary and have since limited my sugar intake to what the WHO recommends. That and the fact that I switched over to small meals throughout the day is what I think caused me to lose weight so quickly. I'll try the cocoa butter though! I use it on my stretch marks, never thought of for stretching skin

The pen test is a stupid test I learned about in high school that determined if you had "big boobs". If you could hold a pen under your boobs, then you had big ones! I've never been able to until yesterday because they were always so perky and there wasn't anything to hold onto the pen lol.

See I was always taught the opposite! I had learned that constantly wearing bras atrophies the muscle that supports your breast and if you wear it often enough and long enough that it would cause early sagging. It didn't apply for like, working out or anything, but if you were just laying around the house or sleeping then you shouldn't wear it. I'll try wearing my bra more to see if that helps. I don't mind the sagging I'm more concerned about it getting worse since I still have 40 pounds I'm hoping to lose!

Definitely build your pec muscles. I lost a massive amount of weight over the last couple of years. Last summer / fall I had sad little boobs. Between free weights and pole work they look super perky and better than they ever have.

I know. Lol. There's lots of "tests" out there. They all give me quite a chuckle. Although I'm sure this issue is not amusing to you though. Gravity, and rapid weight loss, is your tits worst nightmare. None of us are getting any younger and skin naturally looses elasticity as we age. Strap them jokers up as often as possible To keep the boobie skin tight.

Get a boob job and they'll never sag.

All boobs - even boob jobs eventually do sag.

They may stay full and lifted for a while but no one is immune from gravity and aging. They can be redone as one ages but the skin gets thinner and bruises easily with age as well so I'm sure this would limit the number of times a lift/augmentation/revision can be done.

If you opt for boob job as an option that's your perogative. Just know, on a good note, sagging breasts is a sign of wisdom in some cultures!

Lose the weight, wear sports bras 24/7, and when you are done losing weight get your boobs fixed.
