    Default bug bites!!

i recently moved to texas and am NOT used to all these bugs. i'm getting eaten ALIVE! i currently have over 10 and they're mostly on my legs/thighs/ass, it's so embarrassing to work like this, i look diseased. you can't tell on the main floor but i know when i'm on stage under the lights people can tell because someone even said something to me the other day.

i searched and found some threads saying to use cortisone, baking soda, and tea tree oil. helps a little but the problem is as soon as one bite is gone, three more pop up. i don't even spend much time outside and i use bug spray! the other day i came home to new bites just from walking through the parking lot of the damn grocery store.

what can i do to prevent this? and are there any good ways to cover them in the meantime? sally hansen airbrush legs has worked the best for me so far but you can still see them even when i slather it on. i'm trying everything and totally desperate help

Can you put some ice on them to bring the swelling down? I like Campho Phenique (that's how it's spelled) be sure to get the one for bites & not cold sores, any drug store should have it. Do you wear (any) fragrance, including deodorant, scent in laundry soap, etc? If so, stop. Hair products are hard, cause they usually come scented. One exception, there's little scent bags filled w/actual lavender, they are meant for the dryer (I get @ Trader Joe's) I just used them w/my clothes I store, but they are meant to use in the dryer. They can be reused a couple times
I know it's hot AF there, but can you wear a long sleeve, light weight cardigan type of thing out, maybe spray that & your clothes? So you need/want something to repel..how about eucalyptus oil, put some dabs here & there.
I'm in IL, not so much w/the bugs here (so far) I do use the eucalyptus & lavender bags for repelling indoor bugs. Pachooli oil might help (not the perfumey one, get the natural oil)

I had the same problem when I lived up there!. Are you near a lot of green and water?, I moved inner city now and don't get them, all I can suggest is off deep woods and burning citronella candles if sitting outside, I still have 2 bites from visiting family in the country on the weekend. Mosquitos suck im not used to them either!

I was gonna say, for the bites u already have, try a dab of mud mask on them, leave it on a few mins or more. this has a drawing out effect of the poison, (the actual bite).
I tried this & liked it
For covering up, be careful, put a dab of aloe gel, let it dry, then a small amt of concealer on top. Raised bumps may not be covered up too well.

This works like a charm for mosquito bites, if that's what's biting you.
I live in the country now, so yeah...it works.9c762b35e2e5544910334f8f9134bd4c.jpg

I heard that taking vitamin B1 (thiamin) is a natural mosquito repellant. It makes your skin give off a yeasty smell only they can smell, and supposedly keeps them away. I might try that. I made the mistake of riding my bike in the forest the other day and got lost! I felt like I was in a horror movie, I got bitten from head to toe. They say not to scratch cuz it makes them worse. http://www.healthy-holistic-living.c...long.html?t=DM

I've been dealing with bug bites my entire life, for some reason some of us are just extra Delish to those bastards.
Make sure they aren't bed bugs or chiggers or fleas. Fleas love the ankles and creases in your skin or clothing.
So immediately wash with anti bacterial soap and then apply rubbing alcohol (or tea tree) .if it's inflamed you now put an ice cube on it. Then go get some cortizone 10! That shits so soothing. Just don't start scratching at work cause it spreads the poison and makes it itch worse.
Use self tanner and/or sally Hansen spray to cover.
Really make sure you wear a good repellant w all the diseases these blood suckers carry

Omg all I wanted to say was I moved to Texas and have been getting bites also and they're HUGE! I got so many on the back of my leg once it looked like I had psoriasis or something it was nasty. I haven't really found anything to help but when my mom was in town visiting me she made some type of oatmeal mixture and I left it on some bites under a rag. It was pretty soothing.

    But I feel your pain!

I didn't know coconut oil can be used as a repellant. That oil is just amazing. I use it for almost everything, even a natural sunscreen.now repellant will be added to my list
