The untold story hmmm. I wondered why they were making a film about that. I mean what else is there to know? Apparently a lot. I didn't realize he'd been harassed over his decision afterward.

Well, I thought maybe it was a movie to 'cheer people up/shed some positivity' @ least somewhat (w/all the violence/stuff going on). Then I watched it, I didn't realize he was harassed either, but that's the gov't for ya. Always looking for a scapegoat/whipping boy, even in the best of circumstances

Any movie with Clint Eastwood (Director, OR Actor), or Tom Hanks in it is an automatic "blind buy" from me. Some pinheads are already calling this movie a ripoff of the movie "Flight". Nothing could be further from the truth- that one used an actual malfunction that compounded into an accident (Alaska 261) as a jumping off point for the plot.
Fyi, there's a book ("Higher Duty") authored by Capt. Sullenberger himself that should be read in conjunction with the upcoming movie to add more depth and insight. Check it out on Amazon, or your local library.
This (airline/aviation) is a business/profession that there will always be some S.O.B. second guessing the action taken regardless of the outcome.

Maybe they were pissed cause they didn't want to pay out (ea pssngr got 5k for their luggage &10k if they agreed not to sue..)
I already put that book on hold @ my library, thanks, really looking forward to reading it![]()

Well, if you're going to put up a documentary while waiting for movie to come out in Sept., here's 2 more back 'atcha. Both cases ran out of fuel, successful landing at an airport, no loss of life or serious injuries

Edit- For some strange reason, my attempts to link the 2nd documentary were unsuccessful. In yt search engine, type in "Flying On Empty Air Transat Flight 236." There are 2-3 complete videos ranging from 47 minutes to an hour.

I just saw the commercial on tv. So any day now! September is almost here!

I saw the movie over the weekend. If you're thinking of going to see it, you should absolutely go see it. My favorite part was when Sully (Tom Hanks) questioned the validity of the simulations during the NTSB hearings. I don't want to give away too much, but if this movie doesn't get at least one Academy Award nomination in some category, then whoever does the nomination truly puts their head where the sun don't shine.
