Duh New DSLR camera for making clips

Sorry in advance if I'm positing this in the wrong place. It has to do with clip making but didn't want to put it in the Clips4Sale thread.

My Vixia camcorder broke last week and I decided to purchase a DSLR. The Canon PowerShot SX60 HS. I was not prepared for all the details that go into shooting with a dslr. I should of educated myself first. I've never used a dslr before and it seems so complicated. Along with all the lingo and buttons. I've been watching how-to videos all day today, and yesterday but it seems to not be clicking in my head. I mean some things are, kinda, I think.
If anything I'm just venting here because I am so extremely frustrated. All I want to do is film my two customs and film more clips. Is it too much to ask lol. But I can't because the picture quality comes out grainy. It doesn't look so bad on the LCD screen on the camera but once I go to edit on my computer it looks grainy. I've somehow improved it but it's still not sharp. I imagined it would be so clear & crisp. And it's daylight outside, plus have some lighting inside here so darkness is not the issue. My camcorder had clearer footage than what I'm coming out with today.
If anyone knows of a good how-to video on youtube or something I'd be happy to hear about it. Or any advice at all. Maybe I should of just bought myself another camcorder.

    Thanks for reading.

Appreciate the input. I've made some progress with my new camera. Slowly but surely lol. I've made a couple clips and the quality of the footage is pretty decent although I know it can be way sharper. Need to adjust settings and do more trial & error.

The mostly popular cameras (in USA) for video are: Sony a6000 + sel1670, Panasonic G7 + 12-35. I know a lot of families who have this cameras.
