    Default I went to audition

I just walked up to the door, and the doorman asked me if i worked there. I told him I was hoping to...and he told me i needed to come back at 8:30 when the dj gets back. I had no idea that they wanted me to do an audition by dancing 2 songs on the stage! Is that normal? Naturally I left because I wasn't prepared to come back in 3 hours to dance. I don't really know any moves or anything!

Most clubs just want to see your body and it doesn't matter too much how well you dance. You will learn on the job once you're hired. You could always go to a club and watch some girls for some ideas, but really you just have to jump in and try for yourself. It's hard at first but will get easier with time. When I first auditioned it was also my first time in a strip club and I nearly left because I was so scared, but they talked me into it (amateur night) and I got hired and in time got more confident with my dancing.

Its a friday, and they wanted me to come back later when it was super busy which i found strange. its scary enough auditioning, and i don't need the extra stress of it being wall to wall people on my first night, so i spooked and left

Oh sure that would be scary for your first time. Maybe you could try calling and speaking to someone and see if you could go in earlier another day. Most clubs I've worked at let girls audition at early times or on a small side stage.oh and sometimes it's not actually busy at 830pm; that's really early for most strip clubs.

8:30 is still kind of early, most clubs get busy around ten or later. but yeah it's totally normal to do a few songs as an audition. if you're freaked out by all the people then maybe try on a monday. even at 8:30 there's no way it'll be that busy then

It's not good to get in the habit of drinking but a drink or 2 might relax you. Other than that, just try to remember probably most people aren't paying that much attention or aren't judging you like you might be judging yourself. You can try to just dance slowly. I don't do anything fancy; I basically just kind of move my hips a little, and smile. I don't do pole tricks but I dance around it and hold onto it for balance which is great if you're nervous. I also like to lean on the back wall and like stick my butt out, turn around and try to look sexy. You'll find your own style. Try to find some heels you're comfortable in, or even lower ones for the audition until you get used to higher ones.

You could try to do a little warm up stretching and dancing to fun music, just to get your body moving so you don't feel so stiff on stage.
