    Default Upstate New York update

Since no one has really updated on Upstate New York clubs in a long time so I thought i would. I was visiting a friend at U of R (which I do twice yearly) and I decided this year I will work on every vacation.

    So Rochester area

Klassy Kats does not take traveling dancers who are staying for less than a week. You have to audition and join their roster. There is no short of good things i've heard about that club from every dancer I worked with. So if you live in the area I say check it out.

Vixens (formerly foxys) does take traveling dancers. All i had to do was text the owner. The owners directly manage the club (a hippie couple- the wife is the true owner). Beautiful interior, tallest pole in the area (which spins, ugh), not a lot of girls. Mostly white girls with a few spanish and black. The owner plays whatever music you want to listen to. About a dozen girl each day friday and saturday. It never got really busy (at most 20 or so customers at a time) but I did pretty okay which I was not expecting. 5hrs of work each day and a 1200$ grand total.

i don't think the girls there are doing as well because i heard a ton of complaints about it being slow. Who knows, I was milking the im from NYC area thing, urban costumes and boots, booty poppin and stuff. Stage money is quite non-existent. Theres seats at the bar so customers only come up and tip when they feel like it and when they do its usually a dollar that they wanna place in your thong. ( I started telling customers that they better throw that shit or i wont come to them which helped quite a lot) I did a ton of dances which felt futal because instead of a housefee they take half from your dances. They dont have an open couch dances, just a vip-like lapdances in ROOMS . I made most of my money talking to customers who would hand me money for conversation. Saturday, alot of party bus bachelor parties made stops spent some money then went on to the next club.

All and all very pleased with my upstate ny experience. There is money to be made there if you are a local, not really good for traveling (rent prices averages around $500 in rochester so 1200 for 2 days is lucrative for the local dancer) But this should dispell the rumors that upstate is terrible, only $200 on weekends. Ladies BOSS up. You can make money even when its slow.

Oh I FORGOT THE BEST PART super duper clean. Camera everywhere. A bouncer watches the dances and kicks customers out if they act up.

Thanks for the update! Shows that each dancer will have a different experience.

I highly disagree with you on the BOSS UP part. I myself lived in rochester my entire life up until two years ago, and i danced there, at mostly every single club besides two in the ghetto, and I can tell you that it was amazing money in 2006 when I started. I started at 18. I was unfortunately heavy into drugs and boozing it up so I saved NADA. Poor me, literally. But from 2006-2008/9 I was making tons of money, like $100 each stage set almost, averaging about 30 lap dances per night (theres no champagne rooms), and I was making at least $5000 per week.

Fast forward to 2009 and there was the financial crisis and our economy ate shit. So did stripper tips. From 2009 until 2014 when I left, I was seriously averaging about $100-$300 per night, but most shifts were on the lower end of that spectrum, and in the winters sometimes shifts where you go home with less than $50. Rochester strip clubs ARE WORTHLESS. The girls that I work with who seem to not work much and "do well" are hookers mostly. Not all, but most.

There's a lot of heroin, coke, crack, and some meth in these clubs. Klassy Cat is the most strict about that, but sometimes the boss is more lenient with some girls over others and plays favorites.

I can say that klassy cat and mirage try to be "as white as possible" and try to avoid rap music. They try to penalize the girls/dj's that play heavy rap. only r&b and light, mainstream rap is acceptable, or not at all.

I am a very experienced pole dancer, in great shape, was always very personable, humorous, went to school for psychology, had a great stage presence, and got compliments on how I was the hottest girl there, or i should be in the ircus, or i am the best dancer blah blah blah. So the guys are interested, they are just BROKE. The clubs attendance has gone down in ALL of them noticably. They used to get packed for lunch shifts and on weekends. Now it's barely alive. I had to move and go dance in south florida to escape it bc i was shooting heroin and felt like my life was pointless there after suffering a sexual assault (hence the heroin/numbing). Besides my own personal issues, Rochester is just a dark, cold, shit hole for people who are too scared to see what the rest of the big wide world is about. there's nothing to do there and no money. High poverty, lots of drugs. Murder rate is one of the highest per capita in the USA.

if you go to Rochester to dance, I hope you have patience and you aren't staying long. if you are really pretty and look really well put together, you will blow the other girls out of the water and make all the money. Just make sure to GTFO when you are done!

and wear a heavy fucking jacket November-February

I worked at klassy cat for years and i had numerous problems with girls stealing from me ortouching my things, and some physical altercations, and the owner informed me on two different occasions that the camera in the dressing room wasn't even working. I wouldn't be surprised if some of cameras are for show and don't even work. I know somedo, bc there is a monitor in the office and you can see they do have some. but whether it records or not, or how long they keep the recording, or two different things

Thanks! I have a gut feeling that your post about Rochester is the most accurate one on here. Every dancer I met who's worked in Rochester is a heroin addict and hooker. Thanks for your honest story. And I'm glad that you got out of there.

*** not that I'm judging hookers or drug addicts. But I don't want either in the club.

Out of towners always do good here in ROC. Makes me kinda jealous whenever one swings through for the weekend lol. I personally do much better in Rochester than I do in Syracuse, I notice Syracuse is a lot dirter than Rochester too, though. But I'm a student out near 'Cuse so I'm stuck working in Rochester for a while! Anyways, all new girls to any club will always do amazing, at least out here. Sure, there's some nights I can rake in $600, but most nights it's usually between 2-5. And while the owner of the cat does try to keep drama and drugs out, there's always shit that'll slip under the radar, or depending on who causes the drama, will allow to happen. He recently fired a bunch of girls on heroine in March, but a couple have slipped in since then, and now there's two that I'm positive are doing it and one that I'm sure is doing it. While most of the girls here are clean and don't do anything they're not supposed to, there's a few bad apples that's for sure. I refuse to work in any other club in Rochester though due to what I hear about the drugs and extras in them. Haven't ever heard anyone else talk about Vixens, though, maybe I'll have to check that one out for some new girl money haha.

Stay away from Syracuse. Buffalo is very hit or miss and a lot of girls. Some bigger clubs charge NYC type house fees without that kind of traffic and it's laughable. Rochester is typically blue collar day shifts and more urban night shifts, depending on the club. Klassy Cat closed. Cordial/Diamond is closed. Mirage is dead mostly and then when it is busy it's a bunch of cheap freeloaders looking to get drunk and try to date you. Lots of regulars. Typically need a long-term hustle bc it's regulars-heavy. I left to travel and came back and even with a larger social media following I still don't do great at Rochester clubs lots of sitting around and not enough customers or paying customers. I prefer Playmates in Byron. Small dive in the middle of nowhere (it's safe) and it's 18+ full nude NO ALCOHOL. It's small. Like it's built into one level of a literal house! Don't expect much coming there! A good night for me is about $250-$400 but I'm a clean dancer. Bad nights make me wish I stayed home and was in a different city and then I end up traveling again But the money there is generally easy to make without teeth pulling as long as you smile and take care of yourself The Barrel has become very urban and I stopped working there bc I like to do slow and seductive and work the pole and that doesn't work there, not for me. They want twerking and the crowd is YOUNG. Just a neighborhood bar where people ignore the strippers and every now and then someone gets rained on. They wand people for weapons before they come in. Foxys was changed to Vixens and now it's apparently Foxy's again and opening in mid-july. Who knows if it will be good there? New owners don't have a clue how to run the strip club and are relying heavily on one of my friends and another woman to staff the place and get liquor. They DO have their liquor license already which is great! Will only be topless, or pastie club. Most all clubs in Rochester are pastie clubs.

Nothing up here is great unless you do extras. NY is decriminalizing sex work! So I'm sure the clubs will be full of prostitute/escort types more than now. it's gone way down hill!

I'm leaving the end of summer to move out of state and retiring soon after

At this point, New York is not decriminalizing sex work. The Governor stated he read nothing about it even though it was proposed to him. And I doubt it will happen anytime soon.

I quit years ago. I might know you because I know like 5 dancers still there. I left when the old owner ed died for many reasons. I'm referring to Ace.

I’ve heard negative things about mansion, basically it’s a brothel. I only know one girl that’s danced there though and a review from another dancer.

Yes! it's mostly a brothel. it seems as though the majority of clubs in states now in the northeast are brothels. I don't care if someone on here says differently because I've worked in so many clubs that I've seen it with my own eyes.
