Default purchase a new windows comp or try Mac

So, like I said n a previous post I have an iPad (which I've realized isn't gonna be the best for a beginner if it even works at all) and an old 2011 MacBook pro that i finally fixed *I think*. So should I purchase iMovie (I've rcently learned it's not free anymore , but only 15 bucks) and try it out or should I bite the bullet the purchase a cheap windows computer for all my clips/camming needs?? clips are my number 1 priority but I wanna do camming after.
I realize most people don't use macs for clips and camming so it's harder finding info and help but I'm also low on money and would love NOT to have to spend an extra few hundred (but I will if it's way easier and better, I believe in investments and I'm a TOTAL beginner figuring this out for myself)

I'm not sure how this wd be for clips I've never done any, but I just ordered this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9SIA77G3RA7792

How I chose it: I put in some specs I wanted, the i7, & faster cpu, then I put in best selling & this's what came up. I thought the price seemed good, & it had 3 decent reviews (1 custy purch like 3 or 4)
I also searched around under gaming, I know they're rockstars, but not right now for me.

Are you sure you don't already have Imovie on your 2011 Mac? Mine came with it installed, and then updated everything when I updated to the most recent OS. Either way, I would learn to use Imovie on the computer you have for clips since you want to do that first and its the most cost-effective way to get started, and also buy an updated system to cam with. Don't use the Isight cam it comes with for anything tho, most unflattering image I ever saw was reflected back at me.

^if it is on my computer I can't find it anywhere, and can't find it in my 2013 iPad either :/. I read a thread in here from this year and the girl said they make you pay 15 now for an install

I used iMovie on my 2010/11 MacBook when I was making clips and it worked well.
I don't have anything to compare it to as I haven't used Windows, but iMovie is simple to use and did the job for clips.

I think as you've been a Mac user anyway it'd be quicker and easier than getting used to a new system.

I've never had a problem redownloading IMovie on any of my apple products. I download it and delete it all the time. On your Ipad, go to the app store, scroll all the way to the bottom and usually under where it says redeem or whatever it will say "Apps by Apple" or something similar and if i click there it will have it for free, but when I actually search for it in the app store, it will have the purchase option which I always thought was odd.

I personally wouldn't go with a Mac...most of the next-gen cameras especially as well as a lot of the proprietary camming software for various sites does not support Mac or have a mac version.

i7/gen6 all the way into the future bb.

I have a Mac and it's great for clips. Lots of professional designers and video editors use Macs.
