Default What is the gist of San Diego?

I'm moving to Southern California for school and don't want to dance in the city my school is in, so I'm going to have to travel. I've been to San Diego before, loved the city, but never went inside any of the clubs there. What is the general idea of the clubs? From my research on this site, there is a license that's about $300 and the dances are air dances. Is that correct? Tijuana is close by and apparently they have "strip clubs" where beautiful women will do anything under the sun for less than $100. Is this why some dancers say that the customers are cheap? I would only be able to travel one or two weekends a month and would need to make at least $1500 take home after expenses per week-end. Please feel free to add any more information!

In SD, there are only 2 topless clubs (alcohol), and several more full nude clubs (no alcohol). Yes, they are air dances, but girls tend to have contact with familiar customers. I'm not sure how much it costs to start, but for me to renew my permit annually, it costs 3-400 dollars. Customers can just be cheap, it has nothing to do with TJ. I would avoid TJ altogether, as it isn't the safest place last time I heard. $1500 is doable if you're good at selling champagne rooms, but for a average weekend night, you're looking at anywhere from $250-500. With the right regular you can make over 600.

where would you be living/going to school? unless you're actually living in san diego it's not worth traveling and paying for the license/other expenses. maybe if you have someone to stay with.. but after travel costs/hotel and everything you probably won't be taking home much. LA and OC are decent by socal standards but i'm guessing maybe that's where you'll be going to school..

las vegas is a 4-6 hour drive from most of southern california. if you want to travel on weekends and invest several hundred in a license, that's probably your best bet.

i can't say much about san diego because i never worked there but i've heard things from friends and been to a few clubs there as a customer. seems like it's not that great and camp pendleton is there so you get a lot of military guys.

^^ Oh yeah that's right...there is one topless club in Oceanside. I don't think you even need a permit to dance there, but I would call first and check. The club is called the main attraction.

The license price keeps going up, I helped my friend get one recently and it was over $600 all together. It's $300something to renew every year.

San Diego sucks and my sister worked at main attraction and said it was worse. They have weird rules like wearing tights and big bottoms or something that are really unflattering. I made way more money when I worked in OC and I didn't need a license there. San Diego just has too many rules and too cheap customers. I don't think men with money in sd are actually spending it in the clubs like they do in other cities.

Like someone else said I would just travel if i were you. Either go up to OC/LA or go to Vegas on the weekends.

But if you really do want to work in San Diego I would suggest pacers or cheetahs.

^^ I worked at Pacers a while back and did well there. It was consistent money. That was 6-9 years ago, though, when it was the Hustler Club.

^^ yeah i went to pacers a few times with an ex and all the girls i talked to said they like it there. again, i'm sure the license is worth it if you live there, but traveling? ehhh. i think one girl i got dances from told me she averages like 400 on weekends. that was 2 years ago.

seems like OC is definitely better. when i worked at the library i met a surprising number of girls from san diego who drove the 2 hours up there to work. seemed crazy to me but i guess it's worth it.

Yeah I tried pacers once but couldn't work there anymore because I knew too many people who would go as customers. But it seems the most popular and it's in a good location (near downtown and pb so gets a lot of people who work or go out down there).

I wasn't 21 when I worked in Oc so I worked at ecstasy and made good money there, but I've heard it's gone down since then. A lot of girls who worked there also worked at the library tho. If i were to go back to oc I would go to that club.

Glad I did a search for "San Diego" because I live here now and have been having a pretty rough time getting hired. It seems there's too many girls and not enough clubs/customers, and vice tends to crack down on clubs pretty hard. At least two have closed in the past year or two.

The nicest/busiest clubs in San Diego are Pacers and Cheetahs. Right now, Pacers has a hiring freeze. It's consistently busy; I'm not sure of the clientele (probably a mix of tourists, locals, and military guys). It's topless, so they serve alcohol. Cheetahs apparently desperately needs girls for Saturday and Sunday day shifts. The rest of the week seems fairly well staffed, but as far as I understand, once you're hired, you can work other shifts, but don't quote me on that. Talk to management. They're an all nude club, so it's just a juice bar, but they do own a bar next door called The Bullpen. Customers can get their hands stamped to go between the venues.

They're both really nice clubs, but I have heard (and echoing the sentiments from the above posters) that it's better to drive to OC, City of Industry, or LA to work. Or, even Vegas. I'm waiting until convention season to try my hand in LV, it's only a five hour drive from SD. It's even shorter from the LA area; just make sure you drive during off-peak times so you don't hit rush hour traffic on your way to and from.
