    Default Club Ripping Me Off?

Hi guys I just have a question before I pursue action I wanted to run it by some of you smart ladies

My club is in LA and we have to cash out every night - well we have a new system where the customers have to pay for the dances before we even do them.
we got a new manager and the other night he tried to tell me I didn't do a VIP and had to have the bouncer tell him I did.

last night (I record all my dances) I PAID for and did 22 dances and the manager said I only did 19, so I am suspecting I got robbed of 3 dances. I let it slide but if it happens again I am wondering what my options are here: Suing? Threatening to tell corporate or the GM or what...?

this club already takes 50% of my earnings and charges a bogus late fee (they 1099 us so isn't that illegal?) I just feel like I'm getting raped at this point! I work hard to do dances and our club has shitty ghetto Mexicans and it's already hard enough to hustle them to buy a $30 dance!

The whole making the customers prepay thing is kind of to your benefit, at least for the first dance- once you have them in there and you keep them going you should not be stopping every song and making him dig in his wallet. As far as the dances thing- yes, they are ripping you off; however it may be unintentional if they just implemented the new system. I would advise you to go and talk to the g.m. at the beginning of (or preferably before) the shift. Express your concern in a non-confrontational way and tell them you really think you should be paid for them. You may or may not get the money; but at least they will know they can't fuck with you. If it happens again after that, then leave. I understand you are angry and want the money back but it will cost you more money to file the lawsuit then you would recover and small claims cases against an employer (even a contract employer) don't usually end up with you getting all of the money. Good luck, but I am sure if you have to leave there are plenty of other clubs.

My advice would be to switch to a different club if that is an option for you. It sounds like that club takes a lot of your money - an unfair amount imo. If I were working at a club that I felt was taking advantage me to that degree, I wouldn't work there. And I don't like guys having to pay up front for simple dances, unless they are getting a lot. But for just a couple, I don't want to have to keep stopping the flow of things to have him keep prepaying for every song.

I would talk to another girl you know well. See if this has happened to anyone else, because he's probably doing it a lot if he is. I've worked with managers and bouncers that have done stuff like this. If you love the club, take it to the highest manager/owner. It's making the lose out on money too.

My club has a similar system in that we have to get the money up front and we get paid at the end of the night. When your checking out, you should confirm with the manager that you did XX number of dances. Also you should get some sort of receipt of how many dances you did. Make sure you read that receipt the moment you get it to make sure everything is correct.

Thanks everyone, I talked to the GM and made sure everyone knew as well. If it happens again I'll just go to corporate about it. Thank God I'm moving soon this city sucks! It's like all the clubs out here take so much money from the girls.
