    Default dance bag necessities

this should be a fun thread! what are some things you guys pack in your dance bag/makeup box? I tend to over pack BUT this leads to me having things in need of emergency clothing or makeup or minor injury situations. I have a fairly large adidas bag that I store my box full of outfits, it also has my pretty big folding makeup box with two shelves and bottom storage, both sets of my heels, and a change of clothes and shoes to leave in. but my makeup box has just about everything I need. (also note for the big bag annoyances I have a locker I put my bag and everything else up in and only keep my key locking makeup box out on the counter throughout the night. and we also have two very large dressing rooms, upstairs and downstairs)

my (fairly large) makeup box entails:
makeup and makeup brushes (duh lol)
    deodorant
    tube of q-tips
    nail clippers
    flat iron
    hair brush
    heat protectant
    frizz tamer
    scissors
black thread with a sewing needle
white thread with a sewing needle
mini box inside makeup box that includes:
    waterproof bandaids
    fingertip bandaids
    individually prepackaged ibuprofen
hot pink pre wrap for ankle injuries
    neosporin
    safety pins

what are must needs for you when you go to work for the evening?

In my (two months) of experience, the more a dancer brings to the dressing room the longer she stays there and not on the floor making money.

I try and keep my bag simple:

Makeup bag (eyelash glue, highlighter, foundation, concealer, eyeliner, mascara)
    Lip Gloss is a must.
    2 pairs of hoop earings
    Outfit Changes
    Heels
    Spray on deodarent
    Summers Eve Spray
    Regular Deodarent
    Cheap body spray + lotion
    Baby Wipes
    Disposable Razor
Anti Friction Stick (Prevents Chaffing/Bruising from sliding the pole with my thighs)

This past Saturday the club i worked at was PACKED and every guy wanted dances. There were only five girls working including me. While the (4) of us were all making money sweating our asses off with no AC for about three hours straight when I would go in the dressing room to cool off the fifth girl was curling each hair extension, drawing on a new face, in other words making NO money while the rest of us were banking with sweated out hair and foundation running. The less you bring the better.

I never bring/brought that much make-up because I did my makeup the same literally every day. Aside from the essentials you all mentioned I would keep my outfits in ziploc bags to prevent them from getting cigg. smoke and in case something spilled; also extra OTC underwear, flip-flops (I usually came in my gym clothes after working out) and I kept a little emergency cash $40 or so inside the lining in case something ever happened (money lost, stolen or I didn't earn anything) and I had to take a cab or pay tip out. I mean I have always had my own car; but in case I got too drunk or for what ever the hell can go wrong

I usually try to bring everything I need, in case a house mom is running late or if I start working before one gets there etc. In my work bag I bring:
A smaller bag of work clothes and garters, baby wipes, necklace and earrings or whatever jewelry I'm gonna wear, locker key, hair spray, oil sheen spray, brush, flat iron, curling wand, hair ties (if I can find any extra), rubber bands (again, if I can find some), deoderant, perfume and body spray, lotion, ibuprofen, usually some sort of pepto bismol or imodium for emergencies (had to use it twice, saved me lol), and my small bag of makeup. I keep my shoes in my locker.

Aside from all the bases pretty much covered - I bring super glue. Probably good to bring an extra pair of shoes - but always super glue.. Because twice I had the sole of my shoe(s) start to peel from floor work - super glue can save you in those situations..

Small Aleve bottle that I occasionally refill from a bigger, more economical bottle
2 outfits, 2 pairs of shoes, usually 2 thongs
Make-up bag (eye primer so that my makeup stays "pop"y longer, so I don't need to reapply it, eyeshadow, liner, glue, lashes, foundation, highlighter, lipstick/gloss)
    Hair brush/hair ties
Enough tampons to staunch the bleeding of an army for a year
    Occasionally a snack/some food
    Water
Dry Hands/equivalent to help me/my body grip the pole for tricks.

Even though this is an older post-

I have a large duffle bag that I fill up everyday before I go to work. I most certainly overpack but this is what I take-

Inside my duffle bag I have smaller bags to help organize all of this- Mesh bag for clothing items, toiletry bag that holds all my makeup & hygiene products, bag for jewelry and accessory items, small cloth bag I put clothes (if any) I bought but they ended up not fitting so if another girl needs an outfit for whatever reason, I can sell it to her and free up room in my closet.

2 pairs of Pleaser boots, one pair thigh high faux leather for grip if I want to do a lot on the pole, one pair ankle high because I love the support they give.
1 pair of basic Pleaser Sandals with straps incase I break the heels on both pairs of boots in one night, yes this has happened to me. (I also like changing my shoes often so they don't get too sweaty or smelly)
Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Floss, Listerine, Tongue Scraper.
    Gum, Tic Tacs.
A bottle of body mist, and a bottle of good perfume. Both from Victoria's Secret.
Dove cucumber spray deodorant, travel size hair spray & dry shampoo.
Cucumber scented baby wipes, Cucumber scented makeup wipes.
3-6 outfits. One 1 piece, two 2 pieces, and one themed (usually school girl).
2 pairs of socks. One low cut pair and one thigh high pair.
    Garters.
2 pairs of Garter stockings incase one gets ripped.
5ish pairs of cheap clearance Walmart undies that I have worn but didn't wash & individually bagged in air tight plastic Ziploc bags to sell to guys at the club who are into that stuff. And 2 pairs of worn socks packaged the same. (Common where I'm at and saves me from them trying to buy my Victoria's Secret undies off of me.)
Eye shadow pallets, contour pallets, foundation, blush, setting spray, lipstick, lip plumper, glittery lip gloss, mascara, lashes, lashes glue, nail glue, nails. For touch ups and if I lose a lash or nail during the night.
    Makeup brushes and sponges.
    Travel Size hair brush.
Superglue for broken shoes or ripped outfits.
Needle and thread for torn outfits.
    Q-tips.
    Lint roller.
Money bag (mine is actually a pink drawstring dildo bag from a Pure Romance party my friend had years ago lol).
Jewelry (extra earrings, chokers, ankle bracelets).
    Tampons.
Lotion because I have eczema sometimes behind my ear.
    Pole grip.
Mini scissors, eye lash curler, tweezers, nail clippers, nail file, Bobby pins, hair ties, hair clips, small black hair rubber bands, electric nose hair trimmer & attachments.
An extra lock incase I lose the key to the one I keep on my locker 24/7 and have to have management cut it off.
Baggage locks incase management isn't there to cut off my lock so I can just lock my duffle bag.
Small first aid kit I put together that includes- ibprophren, midol, cough drops, Icy hot with lidocaine, nasal spray, eye drops, bandaids, Neosporin, gauze, medical tape, and mole skin patches, and hand sanitizer.
Disinfectant wipes that are lemon scented to wipe out my shoes too keep them fresh after doing stage sets, strings of dances, or just sweatiness in general.
Whip with metal spikes on the end.
    Cigarettes & lighter.
    Liqour.
    Fruit snacks.
Money to pay house fee when I get there so I can dance that night.

I get ready at home and when I get there I just have to get dressed. I over pack because I'd rather be safe than sorry when I'm doing touch-ups throughout the night. Surprisingly everything fits in my duffle bag except for my thigh high boots but I just drape them over the bag to carry them in with me each night. Even more surprising is that the whole bag still fits in my locker lol.

This post made me laugh, because this has definitely been my experience, too! When i was a newbie, I'd get off stage, go downstairs, and try to put myself together after a sweaty set - I'd be drying and re-straightening my sweaty hair, reapplying concealer over any spots, re-spraying body spray... and this was right after my stage set, which was prime time to sell dances. I learned that it's best to look imperfect and sell what you can sell when guys are buying. I've done a lot of dances where i felt absolutely *disgusting*... pouring sweat in the summer after a set when the a/c was broken, etc. But most guys just do not care.

I think it's great advice to bring less, in general, unless you're pulling double shifts or something. I'd see girls wheel suitcases of outfits into the club and spend half their shift deciding which outfits to wear.

I've even done a spray of floral restroom spray which I carried (use it for the restroom) as a method of perfume at times in the air and walked through it LOLLLLL. You gotta make do with what you have sometimes. I once got complimented on my perfume....but it was my deodorant he was smelling lol. Sometimes when you are rushing even in the club that's all you can do LOL!

^ I've done that with Fabreeze too lol !

The longer packing lists are so not me ! Ha. My last shift I wore one outfit , didn't even bring a back up set of heels , and just had a small makeup bag and gum. I'm a bit of a minimalist though at times. If I was working the same place a few days in a row and they had a locker for me I might bring more !
I think I also forgot deoderant and scrounged through a random " odds and ends " pile in the dressing room to find a spray one lol.

I honestly think it's a legit strategy. Obviously, crises can occur at work, so it can be helpful to plan for some things. That said, i always had the most success dancing and was more likely to work more shifts when i approached dancing as "not a big deal."

It also makes a difference if you have a locker at work, which you might if you have a home club and aren't moving around much. Lugging a suitcase in every night probably isn't worth it, but if you have a locker, then you may as well keep some emergency stuff in there.

Just wanna mention the value of keeping tampons, pantyliners and a small first aid kit in your work bag- it's the worst to need something like that at work and not be able to find anything.

Other classics- babywipes, toothpaste and an extra toothbrush.

Yes on the baby wipes and tampons with scissors for the string is great. Depends on the club you work at but pantyliners I've never considered unless there is clothing wear you're allowed to wear according to club rules to conceal it and it's a bikini club only.

I feel so low maintenance reading this, LOL. Mine is:

    1 or 2 outfits including a shawl/cardigan if I didn't wear a coat into the club
    1 pair of shoes
    Body spray
Small makeup bag with just that night's eyeliner/eyeshadow/lipstick
    Tampons
    Manicure scissors for cutting strings
    Phone charger
    Occasionally a snack

Agree with the observation that the more crap girls bring in, the longer they end up in the dressing room. I see girls bring in whole suitcases of their entire makeup collection & outfit wardrobe, they spend a literal hour getting ready and are always back there fussing.

Men absolutely do not notice if your eyeliner isn't perfect or if you have some sweat from stage or if you missed a section of hair when curling it. They do not notice this stuff in broad daylight, much less in a dark club. There is no reason to waste time constantly touching up in the DR.

I usually do makeup at home, so I don’t bother bringing it into the club aside from lipgloss that I’ll keep in the money bag with me. Plus I have had my eyeliner tattoo’d on me and get my eyelashes tinted+permed regularly so it doesn’t take me long to put on makeup at all. So it’s not like showing up earlier for the lower house fee and putting makeup on does much for me.

    I’ll bring:
1-3 pairs of shoes depending on the club I’ll be at. I like to keep all dancer stuff in a suitcase just to make it easy to keep track of it even at home, but if it’s an unknown club or one I know that has a lot of dancers or one I have a bad feeling the chances of theft are higher, I’ll transfer stuff to a backpack and keep the packing lighter.
Dancer outfits, sometimes 2, sometimes all depending on whether I have the backpack or suitcase.
A tiny bag with cheap jewelry
    Baby wipes
    Makeup remover
Tampons + small kids safety scissors
    Regular deodorant
    Spray deodorant
    Body spray
Snacks, or possibly even a meal
    Water
    Mouthwash
    Hair brush
For lower volume clubs where you might often be waiting for customers to come in the door: a book

I usually leave my stuff in a duffel bag in my locker

But I do bring recurring things to work

    - Extra pair of panty fresh out of the laundry.
    - one or two tampons
    - homemade meal with a snack
    - small cooler with iced water inside (call me strange)
    - Extra pair of high heels; cheap but look good, though I switch around and leave a pair in the locker.

That's pretty much it. Since my main duffel bag in the locker has all the things stored when needed.
