    Default Safes for strip trips

Do you ladies have any recommendations for the best route of safe to bring for strip trips.

Something lightweight but heavy duty enough that I don't have to worry about someone busting through it.

I'm going to be working somewhere where I can't deposit money into my bank account.

You could always buy money orders or put it on a prepaid debt card instead of a safe.

A prepaid debit card .. I had to google what this is but that sounds like a brilliant idea! Thanks so much! Do you set these up at your home bank or can you do it internationally? Can you take the money out anywhere? Can you have an unlimited amount of them?

I've been living in a cash only part of the world for too long haha .. I have no idea about all these new developments.

I would probably still get a safe to have in my room while working but this would solve the problem of how you bring the money over the border without getting into shit.

What about those safes that don't look like safes but everyday items with hidden compartment

I use NetSpend pre paid cards while on tour! You can load money to your card at any MoneyGram location. Card costs $5/month

You can get them anywhere like a gas station. Must charge like a few dollars to get it and possible a charge to get it out or u can use it for transations. It's better than using cash.

Any safe that is transportable could be stolen and thus defeats the purpose. Only stay in hotels with an in-room safe or use something like what Kalin suggested. I used to have one disguised as an aerosol can in the locker at my club. What is the reason you can not deposit the money? Do you use a small bank or somehting (asking in case I have another idea). Also, both Walmart and 7-11 have financial services kiosks (or machines in the case of 7-11) with their own pre-paid card and if you are staying within the US you would be hard-pressed to not find a 7-11 or a Walmart at almost any of the destinations.

    Thanks for all the tips.

I'll be working abroad for a couple of months and won't have my bank to deposit money into. I can only bring under 10 G's over the border so I need to figure out how to get the money over the border (pre paid cards would work) and how to safely store my cash in my room.

I found a travel safe that is easy to bring around and made out of some material that is light but impossible to rip into. It also comes with a cord that you can use to secure the safe to a secured fixture.

I took a look at this. But can't someone easily snap the lock on it?

Hmm... possibly? I guess with enough strength and the right tools itd be pretty easy to get into. But I have this brand of for luggage and for my work locker and I haven't had issues. Though, its not impossible I suppose.
