Default Does anyone else regularly get massages?

I find it so pleasurable and I totally do not regret it even though it's like $60-$100 a pop. I always feel better and with my chronic pain all over (not from dancing, just in general) and high stress, it might as well be necessity. Like, a luxurious necessity. I usually get one once a month, but I am thinking of going every two weeks.

I know that dancing is a physically demanding work and a lot of us also work out at the gym on top of that.

Dancers and gymrats, how often do you get massages? If ever? Or do you just stretch and use the foam roller? What's your favorite type?

Well, I used to..I met a wonderful masseuse, he was trained in all types of massage, brought his table to the home.
Don't know what happened, but I lost touch w/him.
I do stretches, sit w/my back to the sun for short periods of time, & do time in the sauna.
I also have a a wooden thing 'knobble' that you can lay on w/or w/o a towel, to work out knots.

I regularly get them... when I remember to make appointments, anyway! For a while, I was going every 2 weeks, and it helped SO much. I have mild scoliosis, so my body gets out of whack very easily.

When I can't go, I either lay on a tennis ball to work out the knots (this is seriously life-changing), or I use one of these amazing torture device-looking gadgets:

How often did you get a massage from him? Now that you don't get it as much and rely on stretches and other stuff, is it the same?

I am starting to wonder if I have fibro. I wonder if there's a health or beauty insurance that pays for massages..

Yes heart insurance should cover at least a portion of alternative therapy. Mine you had to pay in full upfront then they'd reimburse a percentage on the backend. You can only go to providers in the network though.

Or probably get a doctor to prescribe massage therapy.

But yeah I used to go i don't go as much anymore. I love pro massages. I almost had an orgasm one woman was so good at what she did - and no she didn't touch my privates she was just very very skilled. I miss her lol!

I love massages! But I don't go often enough. It's pretty expensive here, for an hour $120 and 90 mins almost $180 with taxes + tip, but it does the body so much good I should probably go more often... Once a month or every two months. I'm trying to cut back on my spendings, I am too materialistic and keep buying stuff, I should be taking more care of my well-being instead and I am pretty sure I will save more money that way

If you can afford it, I say go for it, I mean some men go for bodyrubs twice a week or every week and it's much more expensive
