Has anyone ever tried one? I work standing up a lot and it's supposed to be good for your back. Plus I could use some help with my waistline. What do y'all think?

Actually it's more of a waist slimmer. You only wear it while exercising and it makes you sweat.

I personally don't see how they work at all besides pushing your organs out the sides..they cannot physically make your fat cells shrink, only a deficit of calories can do that (or lipo, which gets rid of the fat cells altogether) And sweating you're just losing water

Yea, I've had a couple, my Dr told me to stop so I did, + they were uncomfortable & shifted around.
What I try to do is, contract my tum muscles (not only just working out) & help strengthen them.
I mean if you wear one like all the damn time, you might lose maybe 1/2" or so, & yea it's not really good to have your internals squeezed it like that.
Years ago women wore them & had lots of medical probs from wearing all the time, including some cases of death.
Speaking of which, I had a 15lb weight gain over a yr ago..I've since lost the weight but have kind of a gut, which's actually mostly due to some medical stuff. I'm on meds (soon to be off) but I feel like a lot of 'having a gut' can be due to a medical issue.

Y'all are right. I need to keep my money.
What whirlerz said, it's popular now. Celebrities are endorsing them, and women see some results, but it's usually water weight loss.
I have back pain, I need back support. It's my posture, yoga has helped me with my back problems. I've slouched for most of my life. Yoga has helped me be aware when I'm slouching (most days)
There are waist trainers that are not corset style, the weight loss is temporary. I used to do slimming wraps with ace bandage type wraps. It involved squeezing my body parts with wet muddy wraps and wearing a spa suit. I was sweating out water. I lost a few pounds, but it always came back.
The corset ones are damaging to internal organs, if women wear them all the time. Wrapping your waist up for reshape does work, but it's temporary. All the rich celebrities do it, they are usually in great shape to begin with.
Pilates is great for strengthening the back as well, I'm just more into yoga, but they both are beneficial.
Good luck, save your money for now![]()

I agree with keeping your money...I have 1 that is meant to be worn while working out and stuff. I never got past the 1st row because it's too uncomfortable to wear for longer than an hour so I saved it to just wear sort of like a spanx situation

I have heard conflicting opinions on the effectiveness of waist trainers. Docs say it can weaken the back with excessive use. Folks who swear by it say it helps melt away fat in the area, but my guess is they are losing water weight. Similar to how Miss America contestants wrap their thighs with caffeine and saran wrap.
All the famous women promoting this stuff were already hour glass shaped to begin with.
