    Default Twitter accounts being hacked

    Hello All,
I signed off of SM around 3 am west coast time and I RT a couple of things for some models I know. I get a DM from a well known model on SM and on here. Not going to say who but I sent a private message on SW to tell her.
The hacker sent me a DM from the models account with a smiley face etc. I said hello and how was your week. The guy said this is not her. I asked who it was. He said I hacked her account. I hack a lot of accounts. I said..I see.
He said follow me and I will not hack you. I followed him and asked him in a nice way to please not hack me as I have enough problems without adding more. I told him I am not a porn star or anyone famous and he said fine. I immediately changed my password to the longest password I have ever used and revoked any kind of app access. I am waiting to her back from the model that got hacked about what to do. I don't know how to report the guy but I will find out tomorrow I guess. Why do people do this? I don't understand why people want to cause pain for others just because they can. So. Change your password people to a really difficult one to hack.
Hope this helps. I will update when I have more info.
    Ginger

The best thing to do is to report that they got hacked. But if you are afraid of getting backlash, don't.

Get your two-step verification going girls on all your shit! Emails, amazon, twitter, facebook, etc. Use a different email and password for each account! PROTECT YOURSELF.

I know this is dumb but what is a two step verification? I can't remember all those damn passwords for every site. I'd lock myself out every time! I guess I could write them down but what if I lost
    It?

As long as your actual phone isn't hacked, 2-step verification is the most helpful for having the passcodes texted to you. For passwords if you can't remember them, get KeyPass and generate your passwords instead of having anything easily guess-able or anything linked to another account, no matter how random you think the words are. KeyPass holds all your passwords and you can enter which site it's for, etc. And yeah, always use a different email, and email accounts that aren't as easily hackable as gmail or MSN accounts are great, too! Something to keep in mind!

The way hackers are hacking into phones is they are calling your phone companies once they locate your number and convincing them to send them a SIM card. Best way to combat this is to put a password on your account. I have a passphrase saved on my accounts to reciet to my phone company and ISP if I need to call about my account.

She's talking about my Twitter account. Some weird hacker group targeted my Twitter and posted weird stuff on it and DMed a few ladies. They are the same group that targeted Tom Hiddleston and usually only target celebrities. So please be careful because I read they are now just randomly hacking into accounts. They suck!!!

I also had the two step process and they still hacked in. These are pro hackers, not just your random idiot hacker.

I had my non-cam account hacked, too, when I had 2-step on, but they also targeted my smart phone and were able to read my text messages, access my banking info, all my browsing data, apps, listen to me through the microphone even when not using my phone, etc. I just don't use smart phones anymore. There are people you can hire to do this level of hacking or materials you can purchase online to perform breaches like this that are available on the internet. Ideally, the longer the passphrase, the more difficult it is to crack, but there are still scripts they can use to crack long ones, even if it takes a couple weeks. Trying to keep them updated as frequently as possible helps, even if it's a pain in the ass. 5 minutes out of your day is a small price to pay for privacy, I guess.
