    Default Knee Pain from Heels?

I'm been dancing for a year and a half, and over the last few months at the ripe old age of 22 I've noticed my knees have been stiff and sore. Today they are so stiff I can barely walk. The pain isn't super bad, they just feel really really stiff. Has anyone else had this? I'm almost 100% sure it's the cartilage. I picked up some glucosamine chondroitin supplements today and I'm hoping that helps. I have to work tonight and I don't know what to do. Shorter heels maybe? I don't know. I'm currently wearing 6inch with ankle straps. Help!

Inserts for the shoes? Some stripper shoes are akin to standing on concrete barefoot, I swear :/
Try not to bend your knees too much and stay off the floor on stage.

Supplements should help! The glucosamine is good, and also turmeric for inflammation, and flax oil or fish oil for lubricating joints.

Otherwise, here's what I've found in my research (my knees are pretty bad, as well):

-avoid touching your knees to the floor
-wear knee pads under socks (mine are DIY, made from cut up old socks... lol)
-wear shoes or boots with a wide heel for support
-use your knees more slowly/don't bend them up and down quickly
-try to make money by upselling dances/doing VIP, to reduce your physical activity
    -do knee strengthening exercises
    -stretch before and after dancing
-ice your knees after every shift
-be mindful of your knees in everyday life. Things like having bad posture, sitting crosslegged, or doing high impact exercise are hard on your knees, especially if you're already having problems.
