Do you enjoy your job? How long did it take you to find a job in a reputable studio? I want a career in holistic wellness and I have my yoga teaching certification but I want to add massage therapy to my resume and am looking to talk to some massage therapists about their experiences.

And if you move states, do you have to get any kind of renewals or anything?

Hey, I'm an LMT in NJ, been working since January. I love it so far...I've always wanted to help people and knowing that I am providing clients with relaxation, stress and pain relief and improved self being is so rewarding to me. I work at a chain spa right now and don't make a whole lot of money yet, but am hoping next year I can get work at a more luxurious spa. The big dream is of course to have my own studio.
Every state has their own licensing process, so it's not that easy to just move to a different state and get your license. In most states you have to take the MBlex exam (though not in NJ) as well as have the accredited hours in order to get your license. You also have to pass a background check.

If you go to school and wait to get your licensing, how long do your hours last or do they expire? Like for example, if you go to hair school and quit in KY, they last 5 years before they renew if you don't have your cosmo license. So i was wondering if there was something similar with massage hours?

It honestly probably depends on your state. I would check out this site: https://www.amtamassage.org/regulati...gulations.html
