    Dizzy ridiculous fees

I just went to audition at a club, and it was dead. like 2 customers at 11:00 dead. I was told it was a minimum house fee of $20, not including a tip out which is another $20 minimum. Then i asked because I'm in school could i leave at midnight. they told me it would be $60 minimum on top of the $40. So, $100 just to be there per night, and these figures are obviously based on times when the club is making money. I asked him what happens if i work and don't make money because its dead, and he said it just rolls over to my next shift. So i'm going to go into debt working at a club with no customers? i told him I'm working to pay off debt, not add to it. He told me he didn't want to run me off but they needed girls. Yeah, no shit. with fees like like that, i have no doubt they can't keep girls. they have 4 btw. its like I'm just a cash cow, and they want to bleed every penny from me with no consideration of whether or not I'm making money. is this how every club is?

Wait, They only have 4 girls all shift? But depending on the club $100 dollars isn't unheard of. Generally night shifts are higher as well. I would advise a club with low house fees or do day shift while I was new and learning to hustle.

Ok well the $60 is for leaving early so don't work on nights you can't stay late. Then it's $20 house and $20 tip out which is on the low end. Hell, you have to be in before noon and not use the VIP at my club to only pay $20 house.

That said, the rolling over thing is stupid. I think it's fair to roll it over if they had guys and you were being lazy or something, but not when there's literally no customers. Most clubs here give you a break if it was that dead.

Is there anywhere busier you can work? It doesn't sound like you'd make much anyway.

i just went and talked to the manager and wasted my time and gas. he said he would put me down s a traveler and i would only pay $50. so its a minimum of $70, and thats the bare minimum to work there. i told him i can't afford that, and he told me well thanks for coming down, but it sounds sounds like i wouldn't work out. i live in the city, I'm not traveling

"I can't afford that" is kind of a funny way to phrase it. Is this because you're new and you anticipate not knowing what you're doing and owing the house often?

This is rather a sink or swim business and the fee system kind of helps enforce that... if you can't make enough to cover them, you'll sink quickly. $20-$50 house with $20 tipout is really not a huge number. Like I said, I routinely pay that range at my club to work days/mids, often with a bit larger tipout, and we have $10 dances here. Those aren't bad numbers for a night shift in a city with $20 dances.

You also auditioned on what, a Tuesday? It's just getting out of summer. I wouldn't have expected a crowd that night. Try the weekend and see if you do better. Stay until 2 so you only pay the $20 house and $20 tipout; that's literally TWO dances to sell. Two. You can do it.

This is shitty but the standard practice. If you can't deal with it for financial reasons, stripping probably isn't for you at the moment. You seem to complain about stripping and work a lot ... maybe this industry is not worth it for you?

Maggie, honey, I think you need to try something different. Maybe switch to dayshifts, go in really early so you don't have house fees at all, and don't have to worry about leaving early. It's not doable every day (because of school), but there are a few days a week where you can dance during the day. It will help you get your confidence and hustling skills up, and you won't walk out owing the house.

That being said, that tip out seems pretty low to me, in Dallas we were paying $100 (without fines to leave early), and here in NY it can be close to $200 just to get in the door.

I personally think excessive fees are ridiculous and clubs should not charge you to leave early especially if you have a medical note or school schedule. Nor should they charge you if the club has been dead for hours. But I don't own a club so .......

Yeah club here was charging hella fees and after I reviewed my numbers I realized they were taking 50% of my money. Not cool. And very pimp like. They eventually changed their fee structure after many dancers complained.

I don't think clubs should take more than 40% of dancers earnings.

So basically if you work there you would need to make bare minimum $250 take away profit to keep at a 40% or less fee deduction.

$40 isn't a lot at all. I would love to work at a place where I only had to pay $40 lol. I've worked in some places where I'd pay out $55, others where I'd pay out over a hundred. Some you even have to pay a few hundred.

Like others have said, that's relatively low although imo fines for leaving early are bs. But even so, you should be able to easily make that on a weekend night minus the late fine if you stay.

Something else to consider....does the club take a cut of VIPs or dances? Or do you keep 100% of that. If you keep it all the money from VIPs and rooms then that house fee and tip out is very low. I find that clubs with lower tip outs usually take a percent of VIPs and or dances and higher tip outs say 75-100, you pay the fee when you get to work and e writhing you make from then on is yours (besides alcohol sales which you may get commission from).

Those are extremely cheap fees, I pay $60-$100 depending on when I come in, plus $10 for parking, $20 min tipout, $5 per dance i do and half of my VIP money if I do a champagne room. Also 11pm on a weekday night is still kinda early sometimes I dont start making money until 12:30-1am, you kinda seem to think this job is easy and the money and help will just be handed to you, its not at all at least not in the past few years and you have hustle for you money even if you're pretty. Clubs arent making money so fees are being raised as well as drink prices which makes your hustle even harder. also there is no leaving early its a 6 hour shift and if you cant work 6 hours they wont hire you. you cant even pay to leave early.

You didnt waste your time or gas, have you never had a job before, most jobs you have to interview for which is gas and time, stripping is no different, think of your audition as an interview, some you win some you lose. why dont you try dancing in the city? man i wish we got deals of any kinds, my club wont even let you work there if you are a traveling dancer. much less ever give you discounted fees

Generally club fees fall into three types:

High fees: Pay out a lot initially but keep most/all of money from sales. Usually high fees are an indicator (but not always) of a busy/high quality club, as they couldn't get girls willing to pay $100 (or more) a night if there wasn't money there.
Medium fees: Some mix between lower club quality, increased money taken from sales, or just having as many girls working as possible to make their fee money.
Low/No fees: Either a super dive (they can't attract dancers if they charge basically anything at all) or take a significant portion of dance sales.

If you aren't confident that you'll make enough consistently to have money for house fees, you should be looking for a club with low to no fees, but be aware that they may be a low earning potential club, or take a good chunk of what you do earn. It's basically prioritizing between pay now or pay later.

My club waives our $30 house fee if you come within 30 mins of the club opening (I'm on the night shift so by 8:30p for me). There's a 20% tip out for staff (4 people to tip each each night...so each get 5%). Then the club gets 25% of each time block I sell (there's no champagne room but I do $300/30 mins & $600/hour) and $7 from every dance (I charge $40-$80 for that). By coming in early on slower days, I know I'll never leave in the negative.

I think this mindset of "i might go into debt!!" Is rly bad. Are u there to make 40-100$, or a couple hundred?
Why dont u think of it like this, if u make 500 your leaving with 460 or 400. I also find when i pay more to work i work harder and thus more money. Ive been working ina slow club all year and been paying anywhere from 55-100 a night to work and its been worth it. I dont want that lil money n im happy to trade it in for bigger money.

But honestly this club sounds pretty garbage. If there was good money there, there would be way more than just 4 girls!! :o

$40 is not bad . If you work there, rearrange your schedule & stay all night (you can make an extra couple hundred in those last two hours). Make sure you get nap time & study time so you will not lack in your school studies . If you can't handle that, you can't handle the city where the hours are longer & the fees are higher & your competition is top notch . Look up the club reviews online from TUSCL or stripclublist.com or google reviews or yelp to see about their business . The more frequent & consistent comments/reviews aims to frequent & consistent business . Good luck .

Like some of the other girls mentioned, try to schedule yourself only on nights that you can stay the entire night. The $40 fees seem reasonable, the $60 to leave early is maybe a bit much. At my club we only pay $10 extra to leave early but that's only allowed if there's an abundance of girls. That was a nice gesture on the manager's part to offer to put you down as a traveler.

And yes, in general clubs just want your house fees and could give a shit less if you're making money.

    Hi!
I started at a club that had an awesome new stripper policy. 4 nights free house. If management isn't understanding/nice then don't work there!
