    Default african black soap

    Hey guys!

so i have been dealing with breakouts all over my face for months but been covering it up with makeup... been trying literally everything under the sun to try to heal my skin.

I dont like to use acne face wash cause my skin is so sensitive.
Been hearing a lot about african black soap and picked it up at ulta. i guess you can get it at walmart.. walgreens etc. Its $5 a bar.. and the bar is huge
    It's 100% natural!

I have used it once.. and my skin has already seen improvement.. seriously wicked.. my pores are smaller too!
suppose to help with psoriasis, acne, aging, eczema.. etc. and you can use it on your body too

I thought id share my little find!

Yes..Erno Lazlo a Hungarian brand skin care has had it for a long time, Zsa Gabor, Jackie Onassis used it, & Marilyn Monroe used the brand.
I believe the brand Shea Moisture has it, & Biore.

Yeah I can't use salicyclic acid (key ingredient in most acne cleansers) on my face - it's too harsh. I'm a benzoyl peroxide fan. But this soap you mention may be worth looking into since it's made with natural ingredients.

Thanks for mentioning this. I have tried it before and it was good. I am going to the store today to buy some since I have eczema on my hands. Hopefully it works because Ivory is breaking me out

I tried the Shea Black Soap in Walmart and the Ambi. Ambi has a great scent to it- like a soft musk. Unfortunately it hasn't helped my face any.

I learned about African Black Soap from this site and I have to say I LOOOOVVVVEE it. I have pretty good skin as far as breakouts, skin tone and elasticity/ no wrinkles but have always had big pores. They have tightened up except right in that area under my eyes and on the side of my nose but I expect it to also show improvement there with some more use (I have had it 4 days).

I've been meaning to try this. Is it drying? For dry skin conditions, would a body wash be better since its liquid?

it burns eyes if it gets there. nope liquid is not better, to make it liquid they add more ingredients. solid bar is cheaper and has maybe 5 ingredients like shea oil, banana ash and a couple of more. if its drying you can use all natural toner such as rose water toner, chamomile toner etc

I actually want it for the body. My face is actually fine, it's my body with problem skin from autoimmune issues.

Sounds good. I use Dove. Whatever moisturizer you use, mix it with a bit of avocado oil, it really helps your complexion and keeps is clear and nearly flawless

Black soap is great. It clears my skin instantly. The only downside is that it sometimes has a slight burning feel - I guess because my skin is so sensitive. DuDu Osun is the best African Black Soap I've used thus far!

I bought some black soap from a vendor at the French Market in Nola last summer for $5/bar. He also sells raw shea butter in plastic tubs, too.

I have psoriasis and eczema and use black soap products to gently remove built up scales on my plaques. I started using it because I was sick of smelling like a camp fire from pine pitch products and T-sal. I tend to prefer shea moisture's liquid face wash( I will spot it on problem body areas as well) just because I share a bathroom and packing up my wet bar after using it is a pain, but they are effective. Black soap products even takes out my "I've been too depressed to deal with my skin for days" level of build up if I mask plaques with it. I've found using black soap products, especially if I'm trying a couple different products at a time, can feel a little dry but not so much that I would have to alter my typical moisturizing and topical routine after bathing.

It dries out my skin but people swear by it. To prevent breakouts I use ACV and/or lemon juice as a daily /nightly toner and only put oils on my skin (coconut, avocado, etc) whatever is handy.
I also love Aloe Vera for any dark spots that pop up
