I'm working on SM and stick to the same hours everyday and am not doing so well. Granted I took a couple months (summer) break but is it even worth it? I'm finding I'm having to build new regulars. I would love some feedback. Thanks.

Yes its important if you took several months off for summer and are now comming back chances are some of them may have moved on . but some need time to find you again . about 4 weeks ago i went back to sm after A YEAR OFF plus a WHOLE NEW ACCOUNT and some of my customers are finding me again. and im already making new ones i dont think its wise to take that much time off at the very least log in for an hour or two and tell them ur takining more time off and will have a select shorter time ull be on post it on ur room topic for a few weeks so they know whats going on. try and find ur most profitable 1-2 hours and cam them
I have been dealing with this too. I used to cam at night every other night last summer for about 4-5 hours a night. It was what I had determined to be my most profitable time but it was hard to keep up with I just couldn't get used to the sleep schedule I was on. I am going to start splitting my shifts into a couple daytime hours and a couple evening hours so that it feels less daunting.

I think it's very important. I never took months off from SM since it became my main site but I took a week or like 3 days off now and then when for different reasons I could not get on cam. I can see a difference in traffic when I miss 3 days and I could see even bigger difference when I took a week off, it took a while to get my traffic back and the money was 60% less than normal. I mean, I can't even get a weekend off without worrying that I will come back to an empty room. I try to work the same hours every day and only take one day off when needed, that's how SM works for me.
For me it is very important to stick to a schedule. Before i had to move to where i am now, i had a schedule and noticed a larger decline in my money i make now where i cant work the schedule i used to compared to before when i stuck to a consistent schedule. I try my best to work the same hours i can right now but i do notice that i did way better when regulars could find me at the same times all the time. Most of my income comes from regulars so i would say to stick with it and youll build a following it will take some time but it will be worth it in the long run. I cant wait to move out and be consistent its much harder when they never know when youll be on as apposed to knowing when you will be. This is just my experience and i feel the strain of inconsistency which is stressful for me at the moment. They will come back and find you, if they are still on the site, may take a bit but some will be back. Good luck hope all goes well.

I see that I'm in the minority here, but I never do well when I keep a set schedule.
IMO, and IME, guys aren't going to wait around until I'm on to jack off.
I proved this to myself last week, when I was having tech issues.
My custies kept getting disconnected ( my end), so they went elsewhere.
I've been camming long enough to know that anytime I pop on, my custies will be there. Except during football or during weekdays.
They also know to message me if they want a show on a certain day/time.
I think in my case, I get mostly New Yorkers. They aren't around during the day. So if I miss a night, or weekend day, or I get on at 5 instead of 8, or 10, they're there. Or not, and in which case, I'm constantly getting new custies.

I think sticking towards the same time frame is a good idea, but if you hop on at different hours, you're also gaining regulars during those hours. At some point, it won't matter too much when you log on because you'll have a revolving base.

From what I've always heard from other cam girls, it sounds like MyFreeCams is the site you'd wanna stick to a schedule for (as much as you possibly can), because of how important regulars are on there, and them needing to have an idea when you're online. Then there's the whole thing where if you get online at a different time when none of your reg. spenders would expect you on, you may not make shit, and your cam score tanks.
Where on Streamate it's not as big a deal, because with its traffic and the amount of guys online ready to "pay to play" (none of this sitting around waiting to see who's gonna tip first)...plus the fact that you don't have to worry about "building up a group of regulars over time" on SM the way that you do with MFC. Streamate is the site that a lot of models consider their "bread and butter." I don't cam on either of those sites anymore, and I'm not sure if the consensus on this has changed since the addition of GOLD shows or what?
But as a former MFC cam girl, I can tell you that even though you can have a great MFC shift if you log on at an usual time for you...you will probably really benefit if you have a set schedule that your regs are aware of. I remember when nighttime was my usual time on there, and every time I tried a daytime shift just to see what would happen, it was absolute shit and just a bunch of new dudes telling me "Wow, I've never seen YOU here before!" Lmao.
And these guys should be smart enough to know that life happens, and you can't always get on cam at the times you're expected. Hell, sometimes you might not even feel like getting online because you're sick as a dog. That's okay too, and that's when Twitter can come in handy. Guys who complain "You weren't on last night, bb! *sad face*" could've just checked your Twitter timeline for an update. Lol.

No, you don't have to keep to a schedule. But you do have to keep yourself accountable for your own business.
Think about it, if you had a brick and motor store and you decided to close up for the summer, why are you surprised customers aren't spending like they used to?
You're building regulars which is doing nothing but adding to your bottom line. You are the only one that can make cam better but don't expect it to get better without the work. You got it if you want it bad enough.
Believe In Your Brand
Schedules and routines are great for building up regulars but they are not set in stone. That's the great thing about camming, you never know when you'll catch that next whale because there are whales at all hours of the day and night.
I would say, stick to a schedule and a routine just to keep yourself efficient but don't hesitate to change up the shift. That's what I did today and it was a really nice change of pace from my usual customers. All new ones! New whales!

There's a psychology to this...men want reliable women. Its built into their genes and reflects in their spending habits. On camming sites, they know that a lot of clients won't even spend at all until their 2nd or 3rd visit to the site, and they are far more likely to spend on someone they see as "reliable". You're building a relationship, not in the traditional sense, but a type of business relationship. Being consistent and reliable in most cases is what will make you the consistent and reliable dollars over time.

Having a schedlue is extremely important. And I talk from my own experience, after I did burn myself this month and last month.
I kept asking myself why July and August have been dead as fuck for me and why I lost my regulars. And I watched my stats.
Well... my schedlue looked like a mess. Today I was loggin at an hour, the next day I was logging in on an oposite schedlue. It wasn't consistent at all.
It looks like thisYep.
When I had a consistent schedlue, working at least 6 hours and logging in and out at same hours, I made way more money.
Now, of course, I am getting back to a fixed shcedlue and i will stick my ass on cam at least 8 hours per day, to build back regulars and traffic.
And is normal. When you go to your favourite store, you know the opening and closing time and you visit it then. If is opened today at x hour and tomorow at another hour, then another hour the next day and so on, you would look for another store with fixed program.
And yes, I talk to myself now, too...
In a vanilla job, is same shit. Our parents, relatives, friends and people with normal jobs, wake up every single day at same hour, end the shift at same hour, for way less money.
I feel like shit when I think about that, but is also motivational for me.
Unfortunately, strong discipline is the key to get back to money and regulars, when you have messed your schedlue or been offline for too long.

I got lazy a couple of weeks ago & didn't cam for a week & a half, came back with a new hair color & different hustle & BOOM! new clients (whales) & better energy. Sometimes we def need time off for ourselves. I personally don't generally keep a schedule BUT I try to log on at the same time at night PST if & when I do work so that I get the same cats I got before & hopefully new ones.
