Default Color balance question (Seems to be Streamate specific)

    Hey y'all,

So I'm having a weird issue with streamate when I cam.

I use the SM broadcaster and I love the pictureI'm seeing in the preview window. It's great color (just bought new lights) and I was super happy with it. That is, until I went and looked at my chatroom through my cammodels link. The color that is actually being broadcast is way off!

    Does anyone know why?

I've tried adjusting the filter sliders in the broadcaster and everything. Nothing seems to help.

Maybe I'm just being too picky but this is really bugging me. 8

Here's a pic to show you the difference.

I am no help, but mine is doing this too. Just in last week. My hair is vibrant red and really bright fushia lipstick in broadcaster preview and I'm all orange in cammodel link.

It's SM. I was on earlier and decided to watch my feed and my bright red lipstick and red satin robe looked orange. Hopefully they clear things up.

If you are using Logitech webcam, download the Logitech Camera Settings apps and adjust the color, it's free from the Apple store.

Im assuming nothing is on auto setting? I stress over the cam setting so much so I can relate. It just bugs me. I want it to be one way and one way only, 0 % variations. This used to be possible with previous webcams. C920 is so sensitive to light. But in your print screen I can see you did not move at all. Are all your filters inside the broadcaster at 100%?

Mine has looked the same recently. This is a Streamate specific issue that I had a while back, it got fixed and now it's back. It has nothing to do with our camera settings...it's another issue SM needs to fix.

yes. Only streamate. I was setting it according to audri's tutorial and it has worked until now. Oh well....maybe they will get it.

Yeah, I adjust all my settings inside Logitech (I also use audri's tutorial) and it looks great in the SMBroadcaster window as you can see in my screenshot but in the actual web browser that customers are seeing it just looks off to me.

I submitted a support ticket with the screenshot. Not that they will do anything but maybe if enough of us complain they will?

I would go back to that but it seems to drop my placement rather drastically

Weird. It does it for me in both encoders, SMB and FMLE as well. Looks fine on my end but then when I view from Streamate my colors are messed up.

Mine is in both encoder and broadcaster also. Cant be everyone tho. I still see many rooms that still have vibrant colors. Mine is more orange than Staples'. Makes me look bad. lol. Well won't let it kill my vibe.

I have that issue too, annoying! I thought it was my Logitech and thought it was a piece of shit this whole time....
    It's streamate...there's no red balance, only orange/yellow.

Same here, the colors are different on the SMB & FMLE preview windows than what it's seen on SM site, on site it has a tint of yellow in all colors. I was really surprised to see the difference but could not explain why there is a difference, just assumed it's a matter of browser settings maybe, etc? Now it looks like it's SM's fault?! hmmm

Have you tried adjusting your logitech cam to darker settings?

I read somewhere once that when a stream is encoded in some cases will cause colors to appear a bit faded. I don't remember the specifics of it. Since then I adjust my cam settings to be deeper than what I would like it, so that it balances out in the stream. Though it is annoying.

I've noticed this recently too and was starting to think it was the Logitech but nope it would appear it's just SM fucking with us as usual. Another hurdle that we are supposed to just hustle through to keep making them money while getting almost nothing back for our efforts!

ETA: Just checked my stream on my other sites and what do you know... crystal clear. Fuck you SM.
