Default Finger herpes aka "herpetic whitlow"

I recently noticed several swollen pimples-like sores on my middle finger, and after a quick Google search discovered this looks and sounds exactly like what I have. Has anyone dealt with this before? I feel so ignorant - I always try to be very careful: applying bandages to my hands (or anywhere else) when I have any open sores to avoid this sort of thing, but I did not realize herpes is not exclusive to the mouth or genitals...

Honestly - I'd go to a Dr. They have those immediate care places, you usually don't need appt, just walk in & see a Dr. It's hard to determine by a website alone, & a lot of stuff can be similar to/mimic what/ev you're looking @. If you don't want to do that, @ least go to a drug store & talk to a pharmacist, but really a Dr's best.. It could be a simple infection of some kind too.
    Good luck.

Google dyshidrotic eczema. Only effects hands and feet. I have it. They look the same. Light therapy gets rid of mine, tanning bed. The doctor had me on awful meds and the tanning bed really does a lot better. If water irritates the bumps, most likely the eczema instead.

put down the web md. now.

lol, just kidding. I know how you feel, I have freaked myself out about any disease under the sun before. The only way to know for sure is go to a doctor. And then that might not even be the end all, be all.

Had crazy issues happen to me and I was devastated and treated myself at home like I was a doctor lol. I was convinced I had scabies and bought the whole treatment for it despite not having the incredible itching and self diagnosing.. I have psoriasis after finally going to the doc and multiple dermatologist analysis. They have cash patient discounts for doctors (65 dollar appointment excluding 30 dollar treatment for me) so just ask . It made so much more sense. I don't have health insurance so it shows it can be somewhat affordable.

I have dyshidrotic eczema on two fingers. It look like a bunch of little bubbles on one hand imagine a tiny patch of poison ivy doesn't feel like anything On the other hand its a little angry red bumpy patch and its itch/burns a little. I treat it with hydrocortisone and A&d oitment. Its not harmful at all.
