Clean your toys, do some yoga, maybe take your dog for a walk, get prettied up, & go! I've found turning on music helps a lot before and while I'm on cam. make a playlist of stuff that makes you happy and listen to it while you're getting ready.
Once you're on cam, I wouldn't recommend turning your audio off, as it definitely will affect your earnings (especially if you're just going to turn it back on anyway. like then you're just shooting yourself in the foot). even if you're primarily typing, saying "hi, how's your day?" or something similar makes custies feel like you're engaged. Engagement means interest from custies, interest means more custies (and regulars), more custies means more $$. Having music on helps it from getting too silent as well, so even if you aren't talking, there's noise.
On really bad days I stick to non-live chat sites (like mgf, skyprivate, NF ect.). The thing about camming is, to some extent, our job is to fake it. You can be whoever the heck you want on cam. Some girls (myself included) have characters they become when they're live. Personally, it helps me detach from whatever is causing me stress or anxiety in my real life. I'm a smiling, confident, chatty, giggly, fun loving, energizer bunny on cam. irl, I'm an anxious, glowering, dog lady who would much rather make crafts on pinterest all day than cam. I just try to be the person I'd want to watch if I were buying a cam show & my customers eat it up. Always remember, when you're selling a product (in this instance, your time) you want to sell it in the best light possible. If you don't act like your product is the shit, nobody else is going to believe it's awesome either.
