Thought about this thread in the car earlier and had a "oh duh" moment. when I first started camming I used to make menus for the week. believe it or not, it saves a crap load of money, especially if you buy in season products. cranberries, root veggies, pumpkin, & apples are all either in season or about to be. stocking up on on perishables that go on sale throughout the year is also an awesome way to save on things you're going to buy anyway. Here's a great site for lists of sale cycles. http://www.grocerybudget101.com/chea...les-cycles-58/

Food is my number one biggest wastage (is that a word?!) of money. I'm a sucker for a good restaurant and I tend to eat out way too much or order in a takeaway, I also just learnt about portioning and it really helps to not over eat (another one of my pitfalls) or overspend. Pasta/potatoes and rice last a lot longer when you research how big a portion should be. 90g rice/115g pasta and roughly 2-4 small potatoes per person if you are interested.
Now if only I could stop justifying wasting £50 on a plate of pasta for me and the boyfriend every week in our favourite restaurant just because I had a good day on cam I would be golden and have this budget thing cracked.

Im a huge meal prepper (lost nearly 8st aka 111lbs in 10 months) so i tend to meal prep alot , i make my meals sunday night freezer them and then defrost/reheat when needed.
Camathon wise i make sure i have things like gf pasta , lacto free ice coffees, i make bowls of bannana ice cream and make sure i take a 10 min break (basically go to nude chat only) for 10 mins every 3hrs to give my mind a break.
good luck girl! xo

My biggest problem also is that living in a mobile home I have no freezer so it's impossible for me to cook ahead of time by a few days because I have nowhere to store the food, I leave things covered in the fridge but they only last 2 days tops if I'm lucky because it's a cheap one provided by the park. I desperately need a proper house with a decent fridge/freezer![]()

I second the eggs and the rotisserie chicken i usually will make a few meals with it myself, make some greek salad and toss some chicken on it then use the left over chicken to make some chicken salad and some homemade chicken noodle soup. I can freeze the soup and eat it at a later time defrosts pretty fast and when i need something quick and healthy that is a good and filling meal. Also i have a huge sweet tooth and i take bananas and slice them up and put them in the freezer and pop them out and eat frozen they are so delicious like that, satisfies my craving for sweets and also is nice to eat when your hot from your shifts cool and refreshing. I will keep some veggies cut up in baggies and eat those as i take breaks and also i put fruit in water and let it infuse in the fridge overnight in a glass and drink it the next day they will last a few days but i usually drink them all same day. What is good in the water is some watermelon orange and strawberry. delicious. I get tired and bored of just plain water and i noticed i drink more if i use the infused water and switch it up. Gives me a boost of energy. Also what is good for energy is walnuts almonds and cashews for me, i love them.
Usually spend about 25-30 or so for a good cam marathon with all the food i need to get to quickly it sure is worth it though.

I spend waaay too much money on food. It's bad. I need to stop paying for ridiculously priced premade/frozen organic foods... Lol
Love the ideas in this thread, especially the rotisserie chicken! I'm terrible at cooking meat, so that would make life so much easier. And rice/beans/potatoes are awesome cheap ways to round out your meals.
I really want to start using my slow-cooker more, since you can make food in bulk and freeze the leftovers.
I spend like $150 / week on food, sometimes more, plus supplements. Protein, vitamins , peptid...
The only thing I dont regret to spend on, are food and supplements. It s very rare, I order something... 1-2 times in a month.
I eat a lot of meat, especially FISH my fridge is always full with fish (but only fresh fish!)
It s good food, very clean (I mean no bad fat what make me feel heavy) -> easy to the stomach, healthy and u can prepare it quickly.
(salmon, rainbow trout, hake and catfish are my favs :* )

Btw, since this is physical work on half part, I d say spend enough on food, and get good food if u can. Try to keep urself balanced on every possible way - that includes physical well being too. Don't save money on bad food, or eat less, what is enough for you. Just my toughts.

Unfortunately not it's a fairly big caravan but just not enough space for a big freezer, although we've been thinking about getting a small counter top freezer in the kitchen for ages. It is compact but I could freeze and pack in a lot of things if I planned it right and not bad for about $40 either. We're not really frozen ready meal eaters so big bulky packaging shouldn't be an issue.
Edit: Just spied on my neighbor and they have a metal contraption on the backend of their caravan complete with padlock and she said she has a huge chest freezer in there! Might be time to ring my handy man dad and ask him to knock one together for me.
I'm excited now.
