Hiiiiii! So I am a bedroom producer that is learning. I started with Acid studio back on 2006/7-ish and made about 30 tracks. Fast forward about 10 years & past a drug fueled rage of self-loathing, and I am back, off opiates, more wise, and ready to fuck shit up. I am now learning Ableton Live and I have a friend teaching me Fruity Loops as well. I also own a Novation Launchkey 49 and a Korg Kaoss Pad 3+

I am interested in, and looking for, a DJ set up as well.

I have a few questions for you:

    1) What do you do?

    2) How long have you been doing it?

    3) How did you get to where you are now? Did you teach yourself, go to school, hire a mentor, etc?

    4) What made you interested in this?

    5) Do men tend to respect you in that industry, or do you feel you are generally not treated fairly?

    6) Are there any music producers/DJ's that inspire you, or whom you idolize?

    7) Words of encouragement you have for a female newbie?

    Thanks ahead of time!

Also, in the future, I would love to hear what you all have made, and would be interested in collaborating with anyone I click with!

If you're a female DJ, and especially if you're pretty you definitely actually get treated better than the guys - you'll also get booked a lot more. Even more so if you're professional, show up on time, are reliable etc. My ex was a DJ for various hip hop artists and did a lot of touring with them and he would say it 10000 times, female DJs definitely get a lot of traction now and are preferred to the guys by a lot of clubs/bars/events.

Sorry that's all the info I have

What kind of beats do you make? EDM,Dubstep, or hip hop? I play around with FL studio a bit, the new android/IOS app is pretty legit

    I wish I were a DJ.

I love listening to music and finding new music. It would be hard trying to coordinate the music and the dancers so Id rather DJ at an upscale night club or major events not a strip club.

Just sucks cause the club here had a female dj once and I don't know the details but allegedly they treated her like sh*t. I think its male dominated industry in this area/club.

Once I knew how much Paris Hilton was making as a DJ I was like shiiiiit.....where I sign up?

That's mostly for her name tho - she gets paid basically just to show up, & usually only for like 20 min. She said she really makes bank in Japan.
Crystal Hefner DJ's sometimes in Vegas I think, Idk about now cause I believe the old man's not doing that great.
