    Default Wifi Hotspot Service/Providers

So I have been having issues with my internet and am paying ovrr $100 a month for the highest speed. Tired of paying so much for shit service. Anyone know of a provider for wifi hot spot services to use my laptop with? One that would work with camming on SM and MFC? It would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I wasn't sure where to put this so moderater please move it if necessary. Thank you.

What kind of issues are you having? Sometimes it's not the Internet but your equipments.

The speed is very slow the majority of the time. It connects then reconnects often even on our cell phone. We hqd a tech out here because I specifically asked for them to replace the router altogether. He didn't. He said he ran an update and said it should work better now. It doesn't. Same crappy service. Im tired of calling them to have a tech come out and not just replace the equipment but Im still having to pay for the crap. I'm with Brighthouse. And since Verizon Fios was sold to Frontier, i dont want to switch to them and have the same grief. Just reading their facebook page is crazy so i dont want to risk it and loose more money.

You're in Florida, is it possible to switch to Comcast? I know a lot of people hate them but it's been good to me. They offer high upload.

I've heard of them. I'll see if they service my area.

Edit: are they known as http://www.xfinity.com/ now?

That sucks. Are you sure you don't wanna give Verizon Fios a try? That's what I have. And most likely, I'll either be with Verizon Fios or Comcast when I move. I've done a lot of tours for 2-BR apartments recently, and the two internet providers in this area are Xfinity by Comcast and Verizon Fios.

Why do you want a hotspot? Its more reliable to plug into your router directly. Unless you have to use wifi then a range extender can help or a usb antennae to plug into the laptop. If it were me I'd call Brighthouse and tear them a new one because a tech came out and didnt do as I asked. I used to have Brighthouse and it really came down to my address I found. On one part of town my services sucked and then when I moved it was perfect. At certain times of the day I could expect a slowdown however. Always around 7-8pm and again at midnight. Don't even think about Centurylink. What they consider high speeds is a joke.

I went through similar issues and when Time Warner was contacted, all they said was that my ping was fine, and there was nothing they could do. No, bb. No.
Called them again, and it turned out to be that the channel I was on was bad. They switched to another channel, and it was fine.
Now that I'm traveling, and living out of hotels, and airbnb, I bought a wifi device called YourKarma, that works great. It's just too expensive. $150 per month for only 50 GB.

I tried the contact them approach, nicely and got no where fast. Frontier (brought verizon fios) i called them, they do deposits and the lady said she could add it to my 1st bill, she ran my credit then the line went dead. I called back and they said the deposit cannot be added to the first bill. Ugh. Now im just gonna look into a wifi hotspot provider and see how that runs instead of dealing with these fucks on the phone.
