Angry Craigslist, anyone else had the run around for selling items

Ok so I got burned twice out of 4 Times I posted 1 for a 2000$ ring I'm selling For 300, a sex swing stand ( yah I know) and equipment, it went well with the kitchen aid mixer that I sold for 85$ retail value 400$ anyway. When I posted about the ring I got an email meet me at Kay's tomorrow, it's for my wife, then an hour later he wrote " is your ring still for sale? I want to buy it for my mom for Christmas" yah fuck you buddy. The sex swing stand I got a call, he said I'll be there in 20 mins, waited and waited and waited nothing! He called me back said he was running late, he' LL only buy it IF I go out and have a drink with him😡 Seriously loser just because I'm selling a sex swing stand doesn't mean I'm a horny fucking skanky bitch that'll screw everybody that comes my way 3rd the equipment, said he was sending a check to my house ( my sisters screamed at me for giving my address out, yes I know I fucked up) check never came no response back no text nothing has anybody ever had this problem and I want advice I don't want to be ridiculed and I don't want to be shamed do you understand just put advice I know I fucked up by giving my address but this is my first time ever using craigslist

I was giving away a big wooden desk, kinda beat, but free

Guy emails me wanting more pics

Dude, its a free desk, not like I am going to force you to take it.

    ended in the dumpster

Giving away some doors, guy emails back and forth about how he is going to come get them, but only has a Jetta....sigh

    dumpster

you learn to just not take it too seriously, if someone wants something, they will follow through

I've seen ads on TV for a cl-type app called "let go". I've never used it so I can't say what the experience is like compared to cl/ebay/etc, but the ads made me chuckle.

When I sold on Craigslist I had positive experiences thank goodness. Most people flaked out over email but once they agreed to meet not only did they keep they word but they also completed the sale. I only had 1 person meet me and not buy but I didn't care cause they meet me at my clubhouse and I didn't waste gas driving anywhere. And 1 couple haggled the price with me at the scene which I thought was distasteful cause we agreed on the price before meeting. But with the exception of those two times it all went well.

Also I never told people I sold on Craigslist till after the fact. Most people think craigslist they thing negative stereotypes of cheapos and serial killers, which I'm sure a small percentage really are but overall they are "normal" people. So it could be other people's negative judgements and negative vibes rubbing off on you.

i wouldn't recommend selling things like jewelry, unless you're experienced or selling costume type jewelry. Only because you don't want someone to rob you and I personally would only buy appraised jewelry from dealers with storefronts vs. unknown individuals. Nor would I personally sell sex related items cause I wouldnt want to deal with potential pervs. But it's up to you what you sell.

And this is good advice. Gotta sift through the flakes a few times to get to the real buyers. Try not to take things personal if they don't pan out.
