Me. Being on medication can really stop you up. Been struggling w it for years.
I'm a constipation veteran. I've tried it ALL. Eat good fats, that's a huge help! Avocados, nuts, seeds, etc. a shot of coconut oil before bed works amazing.
Bran muffins, kale, prunes, lots of water and unsweetened tea. Dandelion tea is great for constipation! good fats and oils + fiber + hydration. do you drink coffee? Stay away from sugars and processed shit..cheese w bread (like pizza) is a killer.
I also do intestinal rubs..just gently massage lower stomach clockwise , paying special attention to the lower left side. Be gentle.
my dr said it was safe to take miralax daily. You can take milk of magnesia a few times per week too, just keep up w fluid intake. Just stay the hell away from stimulant laxatives if you can, don't get into the habit of using them often. I'm on the fence w enemas, if it's REALLY stopped up I'll use one to get everything "flushed out" (lol) but I try to use them after I've tried the stuff I mentioned above.

Start probiotics.
Start slow. You'll go a lot in the first few days probably.





Stay physically active. Helps your body keep things moving through the intestines.
Don't eat too much meat or heavy foods like nuts, dairy, etc. If you do eat heavy foods, use smaller portions and pair with a healthy starch like potatoes or brown rice.
Include high-fiber foods like beans in your diet, but only if you are not already constipated (otherwise they will make it worse!).
Coffee also helps some people with constipation.

I second probiotics when I take them daily I notice I expel waste the same or the next day.

I know stress is a huge part of it and my crazy crazy work schedule.





For me, eating a fresh grapefruit w/coffee helps. Drink some water too, it is very acidic

I won't poo when I'm dancing or when I'm with a "client" escorting and I try to avoid public bathrooms for that at all costs. I know. Stupid. How does a dancer that takes off her clothes freak out pooing at work or in a public bathroom. But that's how I've always been.

2)drink more water
3)coconut oil is a natural laxative, mct coconut oil may help even better.
4)apple and kefir. eat an apple drink a kefir after.
5)eat a liquid soup.
I drink juice daily even if I miss eating fruit so I'm rarely constipated. Apple juice, especially the whole kind (not from concentrate) is my favorite. But any juice will help. I've never had prune juice but many say it's better than apple for this. Here is a website.

This looks like the problem. Your body sends out hormones to make you "go," but if you don't actually use the bathroom in that time, your body will eventually stop and the poo will get backed up. Then it becomes harder to go, next time. Once you become constipated, fiber makes it worse and you have to look for things with a laxative effect, like coffee or prune juice.
Stool softeners (like miralax) are always better than stimulant laxatives, if you need to take them... but don't do it all the time. It's really addictive and not good for you.




Magnesium supplements should help. I started taking them for insomnia but found out about the natural laxative effect along the way, LOL





If you really have a prob that doesn't seem to respond, you should consider seeing a gastroenteroligist as I did..
I mean the grapefruit/coffee thing worked well, but I'm really glad I see a gastro.

There are a lot potential causes, but most frustrating is when there isn't a clear one ( "idiopathic"). Two non-stimulant options I have found helpful are:
1) glycerin suppositories, and
2) MiraLax (twice daily).
These are both osmotic laxatives, and are safe if you drink enough water.





You're doctor said that? Hmm, I'd get a second opinion. Any type of shake, powder, etc. will eventually make it so that you CANT go without taking it.
Your best bet is to stick to food and liquid items and occasionally take additional supplements.
My go to is a morning shake with prune juice, spinach, and berries. A shot of ACV is good for digestion and of course, avoiding processed foods and carbs (its hard but I don't eat bread, cheese or even potatoes and rice)
Also note it takes time to get regular. For me it was about 2 weeks but from then on, I've had no problems



I cant imagine pooping if I was a dancer. I know they do the whole baby wipes thing but nah. lol. I need to at least take a bird bath after I dump. I mean what about full nude clubs? Hell no
And unless I have the runs I can hold it till after a client session and still go fine. Once you heal yourself of constipation, you wont have that issue





Prunes, prune juice, hot coffee with /milk or creamer alternated with ice water. Also sunflower seeds in large quantities.
BTW natural laxatives might take up to a whole several hours to go through you- clear your calendar
