Default For my traveling dancers, name a city that you REFUSE to dance in....

....based off the the city itself?

For me, I have to say it's Chicago, California(yeah. I know its a state. But the whole state freaking sucks) Virginia, and NY. I heard Miami is a shitty city too

Just curious, what is wrong with NY?
    I would avoid DC.

NYC requires background checks, takes a day to process. They have strict rules where you have to commit to a schedule and pay ridiculous fees of 175+ for tip out. On most slow nights, you wont leave with more than $200.00 because customers in NYC are cheap...
NOW on the contrast if you become an official girl..... AKA get hooked up/$$$ with the bouncers that have been helping girls pimp themselves out to a higher end clientele for OVER 2 decades-then you will leave with thousands. It just depends on your motivation, hustle, attitude and wether you are an extras girl or not.
If you are a clean dancer, NYC clubs are not for that and would leave a hole in your purse.
Flashdancers is one of the very few clubs where you can dance clean and leave with $, but you have to remember the house fee is so high,
it won't be worth staying there for very long. It will eat into your expenses and most of your earnings.

    Other cities to avoid:
Houston (ghetto crowds, dirty clubs & too many sting operations)
Miami (hard to compete with $50 BJS, thousands of attractive escorts, & some clubs refuse to hire out of state girls today)
Dallas (licensing costs 100$ upfront cash not for everybody but heard its good $)
LA (thousands of girls from all over the world competing to get a job, if you do get hired management takes advantage of you, and pockets your fees, $10 lap dances)
NYC is the worst. They treat you like a second-class citizen and extort high fees from dancers. Not worth it
at all unless you do extras.
New Orleans- ghetto, cheap crowds and in very unsafe area to & from work/best avoided.
ATL- 350$ for a license to dance? Uh no thanks. Could be worth it but highly unnecessary.

ALL OF THIS!Everything you have statd is the reason why NY is a shitty place to dance in,and isn't worth the trouble.

Plus outside tthe club, it stinks, the people are rude as hell both inside and outside of the club. It's cold, and it's infested with Pomeranian sized rats

Cities I have no desire to dance in......
    1. Detroit. You have to pay a license fee to compete with hardcore extras in 99 percent of the clubs? No thank you.
    2. Atlanta. The license fees are way too high and from what I've seen through extensive research I would probably have trouble finding a club that is a good fit for me.

Cities I've gone to and have to desire to go back to......
    1. NYC. I LOVE LOVE LOVE New York City, but I'm not the look the Manhattan clubs want and most of the other clubs I've gone to have way too strict of scheduling and didn't want to work with me at all. If more clubs that would hire me had open scheduling I'd go back but otherwise, no thanks.
    2. Orlando Florida. Weird stages, weird laws, hard to make money.
    3. Boise Idaho. See above, plus all the clubs besides Spearmint Rhino rob you blind and demand a portion of your tips. Um, how about FUCK YOU.
    4. Miami. Too picky. Too dirty.

I'm sure there's more but I'll leave it at that for now.

Have you actually ever worked in NYC? If so, where? We don't require background checks. Most clubs just require a social and an ID. Some clubs take under 21 and a certain chain of clubs that does not even require a social. Again where in NYC have you encountered "cheap" customers? Most of our customers are white collar and are not cheap. However, they can afford to be picky since they literally have the pick of the litter so come your best or you may very well leave with $200 although I've seen girls that are not too nice to look at make a G day in and day out, it's all about YOUR hustle. Yes, the bouncers/hosts help certain girls but those girls kick them back 20% if not more of their earnings. Not everyone who makes thousands does extras. But listen, this is a tough city, competition is tough and you have to not be only be gorgeous but at the top of your A game. You cannot be happy with mediocre nights because the cost of living is that damn high and most of the money you make here is reported to the IRS so you'll be paying taxes on that money and rightfully so. Now, I see you mentioned Flashdancers, that is a chain us dancers in NYC either started at (unfortunately and learned our lessons) or have no other choice but it be (no social and/or no other options). They take advantage of this! They know they can impose Nazi-like rules with 4 day schedules you do not get to choose, high high house fees, and fees charged for various things including not coming into work on a day they scheduled you no matter if it is a holiday. Their club structure is not the norm but it is unfortunately what many have to endure. I do agree that if you're dancing in NYC while traveling that you're going to have to figure out a way to cut down costs. Hotels are way too pricey in Manhattan, I recommend Air B&B. Some girls in my club even sublet their apts or rooms in their apts while they travel as well to cut down costs.

NYC isn't for everyone. I'm inclined to listen to AB since she is a veteran of the scene for quite some time.

Yes, today the clubs in NYC require background checks and Yes...I have worked in several NYC clubs, otherwise I wouldn't post just some random crap on here. I am on this thread to help traveling dancers like myself & others interested. If you were wondering, No I'm not average at all, I look more like a fitness model and not a dancer-and these were my experiences which are pretty recent, in the past 6 months. Cheap customers are everywhere, 20$ dances from each guy is what you will find if your not an extras chick. White collar, sure that's in NYC for you, but as a new girl @ a club/traveling dancers are not going to get access to all the white collar guys that already most of the regular girls working there they already have as customers....And with dozens and dozens of girls working there, think about how many white collar guys that are going to spend a big chunk of change on all that variety available to them as well as their regular chick they go see. A hard hustle when these guys are $heap.

Here is where I have worked: Scores NYC, Flashdancers, Rick's Cabaret, and the worst, Sapphires. All these places except Flash dancers now require a background check. I have also worked at SIN CITY in the Bronx where they have more urban girls and a hip hop scene, on a Sunday Night it was slow with no customers and 20+girls. All of these clubs are hit/miss and yes they require a strict schedule and background checks in Manhattan, as of today from my recent auditions and travel experiences. Go ahead and call any of those clubs I mentioned and ask about the background check, that is the BS they are now doing.

WE all have different experiences, been dancing 8+ years. The more info posted on here the better, and I gave some legit facts in order to help traveling girls avoid the BS.

I just went ahead and texted the head housemom at one of the clubs you mentioned and she said that they do not do background checks however they may google your name and if something comes up, they will most likely not hire you. Maybe that is what you are referring to? Even if you only do $20 dances, you can still make a G on the floor at at least 2/3 of the clubs you mentioned. I personally tailor my hustle to only aim for rooms and once I have exhausted all my resources in the clubs, then I may switch to dances till some new clientele comes in. This way I barely do dances, only rooms. If not, you're right, you will do a ton of dances which is not so bad considering there are MANY clubs girls can hardly get dances ...now THOSE guys are what I consider cheap. I think we are blessed in NYC to be able to make a G on the floor in dances or more in the rooms. The entire club is filled with white collar customers. Are some of the guys specifically there to see certain girls? Absolutely, it's called having regulars but I have my regs trained to let any approaching girl know they are waiting for me so they don't waste their time.

Lol I loved working in new york but I worked in the boroughs. However I remember the last year there it died down quite a bit and got oversaturated. Never worked in manhattan so can't speak for city clubs

Also got u all beat. Saw a pitbull sized rat at sin city in the bx. Lol

LA is pretty trash I have some friends struggling. I do alright because I have a specific market I can tap into but ny money was definitely so much better.

SEATTLE!!!!! It's my home town. It sucks in a bad bad BAD way. I actually moved states because I liked dancing but would not dance in Seattle anymore. Insane house fees (100-180 a night??) PLUS needing a dancer license? NO ONE tips at stage and extras are rampant. I'd rather stick a needle in my eye than work there again.

If I didn't live here, I would avoid AZ (and NM). $10 dances are EW.

For me, it's Louisville KY. Several places need to be condemned. Many are just extras/drug dens. Plus, strict ordinances make it difficult to do anything without breaking the law.

To the girls speaking about ny, everything arielbriel said is right. Sapphire says they do background checks (but I'm not sure how deep they are...they aren't cops...) But that's it. No other place does and will hire you or not on audition. Yes it is hard here, for a number of reasons the men are picky and we can all go into a long convo about that. But in NYC there is money because the white collar jobs are high paid and the price of living is high. Yes the fees are high. But you do not have to do extras to make room money. In fact don't. Read up here and just practice practice practice. It will come. I live here and this is my only experience. Im not the hottest walking but when you learn the savvy city smart hustle here you will be fine.

As for flash, I say avoid. Their fees are the highest and most ludacris around and since they will hire you without paperwork they take advantage of the girls. They will fine you for missing a shift no matter what and they take almost all of your room money. NYC is room based. I'd you can deal with crazy schedules, Gallagher's in queens is a good place to start. I did too there. There is money and you can learn on your feet how to hustle rooms here

In my experience guys in nyc are nothing or they are very generous. You will find generous. Good luck

Also re nyc, most places are not strict with scheduling. For example Hustler club asks you for a schedule but never holds you to it. Most are the same and at worst (aside from places like flash, private eyes, Gallaghers) you can text the house mom and say you can't come in and they will be fine. $200 should be an absolutely awful night in nyc. Even $500 isn't great because the rooms are so expensive.

Well SexyJasmine112, is right about the extras. They're getting out of hand. Like saturated. And it's usually Miami, LA, and barely english speaking girls bringing in the CHEAP as hell extras. I'll leave it at that.

The extras are getting out of hand everywhere. The past few months, I've mostly worked in four clubs in three different states and the extras are out of control. And I second NYC. Too difficult to get there, either parking or public transportation. The management, ladies and favorites. And the hit or miss nights.

^^ there is CRAZY favoritism that is true. You can sell on your own, but especially in some clubs, the hosts will try to block you even on that

^^^oh, and I wouldn't say that NYC is my least favorite place to travel to either since it's my hometown. I would say one of my least favorite places to travel to work was Florida.
