Default Exercises to tone arms and make them smaller?

I am just going to put this out there with the hopes someone has had the same issue as me. As a child and teen I always had very strong arms but in my early 20's found them a bit muscular so I stopped lifting weights. I have done lipo twice and they are still big (for my frame) but kind of flabby now. I am trying to get my body 100% and have about 2 months to do so. I am not nearly as concerned about my arms as my stomach and thighs but I would like to make them smaller and more toned without bulking up again. I know everyone says use lighter weights and more reps but that seems to do very little. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I was skinny in high school but got fat in college, and was overweight until mid forties.

Then I started doing HIIT (see below) and ditched running and lifting and it all went away.

Can you get to a pool? Swimming's great exercise, all the way around.
This won't help, but when I used manual mower, my arms & around my boobs were sooo tight!

Well, the problem isn't going to be solved in a month. It's going to take months of weight training, cardio and diet. Many women store fat in their arms because they have high estrogen. I also have bigger arms and it's always bothered me, but apart from lipo, there is literally nothing to be done outside of weight training and diet. As long as you are fit and healthy, I guarantee you no one else will notice your arms.

If you look up a girl named Rachel Aust on youtube, she has the same problem. She used to be overweight and now she's super fit and healthy and her arms are still curvy just because that's where she stores fat because of her estrogen levels. Have you had bloodwork or any testing done to see if that's the case?

Me too!!! It is so frustrating. I swear I have bigger upper arms than women who are 50 pounds heavier than me!!! The only thing that has helped me are pushups, pushups, and more pushups. Also, do free weights instead of using the machines, like that tri-cep building machine has never worked but free weights and the pushups help. I get muscular upper arms too, but the above has never caused them to bulk up.

(I do understand you can't spot train, but pushups mixed with cardio really works because if I just do cardio and lose weight my arms stay flabby. I have to lift heavy weights to firm them)

Thanks, and dely thanks for the advice about the bloodwork- I had not thought of that. I didn't mean I expected it to be all better in a month, I mean that a month has passed and despite losing about 15 lbs my arms are the same nastisness.

Bumping because despite my own advice, I am STILL being plagued with fat upper arms! I feel so sad I am only 26 and it doesn't look like loose skin. It feels like firm and solid fat, so I don't believe it is loose skin. I've looked at "batwing" removal surgery but the scars are gnarly. Could my birth control pills be causing me to store fat there? I read that too-high levels of estrogen can cause this. I literally stood in the mirror (unhealthy I know) and cried for 30 minutes because they look like fat old lady arms. I literally don't have this issue anywhere else, not even my stomach.

Here is photo. It is awful! Again, no "crepey" thin loose skin it's all thick and wobbly. You can see the size difference from my foream. The rest of me matches my forearm. I am overweight and I am working on it but my size is much smaller than my upper arms.

I have had high estrogen and I will tell you, it caused me to gain weight in arms, thighs, tummy, etc. I would have your hormone levels checked. What I did was eat very clean, work out consistently, and take DIM supplements and I used a progesterone cream to balance myself out. I do a lot of pole tricks so I have thicker upper arms, but after using dim and progesterone cream I lost the weight and feel a lot better too.

    What's DIM?
Aw, sorry hun. I have flabby upper arms too.
When I manually mowed my lawn, my arms were smoking, my boobs too (tightens the pecs)
So maybe some type of exercise to simulate that?

    All about DIM
Also, cut out caffeine to lower estrogen! Or at least cut down.

Sorry, not trying to derail thread. Just saying that high estrogen levels make you gain weight in areas like upper arms.

Maybe you could mow the neighbors lawns as a sideline.

Did you have this problem before you started taking birth control pills? Would it be possible to try going a few weeks without taking them to see if that is what's causing your problem?

I have been on it since age 11, ( I have had numerous period issues) and my arms have always been like this even that young. Losing weight and building muscle helps, and I get smaller, but they stay out of proportion. I also have meaty thighs no matter how much weight I lose. I assumed it was genes, but but now having done research on high estrogen levels I would like to go off of it to see.

I'm prone to thick thighs and big arms too and have high estrogen so I feel ya. I lift heavy like a dude and do a lot of heavy lifting boxes and stuff at my day job. I've accepted that I'll never have dainty arms and thin thighs so I try to be really fit and muscular. I have man arms but most guys don't seem to care. I'll post about the exercises I do if anyone's interested.

One exercise that may help firm the arms is swimming. Also, jumping rope may help. Both of these give your arms a good workout.

Birth control pills or any kind of hormone pills can cause fat to store in different places. I was on one and it made me get fat in the arm and belly area. I went off of that but then my tummy problem started acting up and doctor gave me prednisone for it, which says in side effects pamphlet that it might cause weight gain in unusual areas of the body. Swimming can help. As ridiculous as it is, I do exercises that I find on Youtube. I do one of them on there that says "3 minute arm toning- no weights", twice a day 6 days a week and I swear I think that it is actually working.
