I have 2 laptops, one is windows 8 and one with windows 10. I have drop box and take screen shots for different stuff but I was thinking that someone had mentioned a program that grabs screen shots from videos to use for profile pics or photo sets? Just can't remember where I seen it![]()

Windows 10 has a built in "snipping tool" or "snip tool," which you can use to select areas to screenshot.![]()

For windows 8, you can take a snapshot from a movie clip using windows movie maker.

I've been meaning to post a tip about this! I do this with a video player called VideoLan http://www.videolan.org/index.html and there's a tutorial here https://turbofuture.com/computers/Ho...C-Media-Player
The way I gather pics is to let the video play while this filter send screenshots to a folder. I go back and choose the best ones and delete the rest. It's faster than manually searching for good moments to snap. Hope this helps.
Or play the video and press print screen and paste into paint paint.net is much better

I guess I'm too impatient for this. I'd rather let the video process while I do other things. Hunting for good frames bores me to death. But if you just want a quick screen shot paint.net is all you need. I think more along the lines of grabbing pics to sell as sets.
Vlc player allows you to take screenshots whenever and where ever on the video you want. Saves it all right to your picture folder. I think it's shift + s and it snaps a photo and saves without interrupting anything
