No I never said or implied that. Voting for a racist does not automatically make one racist but it does make them look suspect.
I have associates that are racist but I cannot have deeper connections like be friends with them nor would I support them in leadership positions. I mistakenly dated a guy I discovered was a white supremacist and I had to end the relationship.
White supremacist groups such as KKK endorsed trump so a percentage of his supporters are indeed bonafide racists.
Yes I think one can vote for a person based issues such as employment, housing, education, taxes, etc. but these things are also tied to race/culture and have such undertones.
Besides trump didn't just make ridiculous comments against multiple groups based on race. He has been sued for practing racial, gender, and housing discrimination. He also bragged about sexually assaulting woman and mocked people with disabilities and the list goes on. So it's not just about race. But I suppose his voters were able to look past all his personal shortcomings.

True she won the majority of the votes with the way the system is setup but that's changing the rules after the game is played. It doesn't take into account that people stayed at home in heavily red or blue states who felt like their votes wouldn't matter. NOt saying we should stick with the electoral college nor am I saying we should go with the popular vote.
People are nuts. He is the elected president and accept it and move on. If God really bless us, he will do lots of good things for us. No one, no one had the chance he has right now. With congress and Supreme Court on his side, he literally can do anything he planned to achieve. Obama was never given this type of chance and also because he was not willing to strike a deal with congress. It's a disaster on both side. Now we have an United government, trump has one chance and the best chance ever. He'd better do good for the people in America. People elected him for this very reason.
Protestors are just a sad demonstration of ignorance. It's a done deal now. In order to impeach him you need congress and Supreme Court.

Omg I'm reading people (kids mostly) are actually killing themselves over this!! PlZ don't do that over an orange Cheeto!! That saddens me so much. There was hate and bigotry in this world long before trump, teach your kids not to be bigoted assholes and call it out and be kind. If everyone fought it with that the world would change so fast. All this violence freaks me out.
People are holding signs say" not my president" "impeach Trump". I can't tell you how much I hate hillary right now. If it's not because this power greedy person, we won't need to gamble with trump. We would have bernie who is a gentleman with lots of integrity and decency.

Yeah. I think people who Donald ranted against are reacting - which is normal.
If you or your family are a part of the groups he said he would send back, deport, or cast aside you might have the same reaction. It's not easy hearing a man saying and doing these things in the press then accepting him as a leader.
Regardless though, As long as people come together for something positive, rather than act out in a negative way that harms others, then everything will be all good.
I though Bernie would have been a viable candidate as well but I don't understand why he didn't make farther?

Because Hillary has DNC help her to rig the system. There are many leaked phone recordings that shows DNC top officials did everything they can to shut bernie down.
“Bernie needs to be ground to a pulp. We can’t start believing our own primary bullshit. This is no time to run the general. Crush him as hard as you can,” Johnson (former Bill Clinton senior adviser) said in an email in February this year.
Podesta (Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman) responded by saying that he “agrees with that in principle,” asking Johnson where he would like “to stick the knife in.”

Donald Trumps upset victory is mind blowing to me.... but we should give him a chance now. Obama, Hilary, Elizabeth Warren, etc all have graciously accepted his win and even have offered to help him.
Hopefully he will turn out to good President... maybe even a great one. If Donald Trump does turn out to be a good President... we all win. If Donald Trump does an awful job.... it's still a win for most of us.... because we can say.... we told ya so. lol

Racism, Xenophobia, Bigotry and Misogyny won the election so NO, we CANNOT "just move on".
Not when this country is home to people of ALL nationalities. People are afraid for good reason. This man is going to elect a Supreme Court justice and has control of both the house and the senate. He is the most powerful man in the world right now. If you're a woman (think Roe v Wade), If you're a member of the LGBT community (think marriage equality), if you're a immigrant (think DACA), you have a lot to worry about. Let's not forget to mention the Muslim-American families that are afraid to leave their homes right now. If nothing else, the results of this election have shown the true character of America.
Oh and the notion that a man that has railroaded the average joe for years all the sudden cares about the working class is laughable BUT I will pray for him. I will pray that he has a change of heart because not supporting the president is the same as wanting the plane you're on to crash. We SHOULD all be in this together. I'll cross my fingers.

Grr the ppl online! As much as I hate trump and truly know he is an entitled rapist sexually assaulting monster..hillary has defended rapists and stood against the lgbt community all along up until recently. Nothing makes me more angry than when either side brings up the sexual assaults commited by trump/Clinton without mentioning that the other sides were accused of the very same thing. I hate seeing sexual assault victims used to further either sides corrupt agendas. These politicans are all elitist pig trash and they're buddies w each other and Epstein, a known pedophile and sex offender. Both are flip floppers and cons.
This country stood no chance since they turned their back on Bernie.im so angry about that. To all the people who smirked and smugly said "well, Bernie never would have gotten elected, Clinton is our only chance" LOOK WHERE YOU GOT US FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS!!
Ok sorry I should go on a walk and stop posting lmao.

Yes. And so far it's been pretty benign. If we get more complaints (1 so far), it will be closed. Politics really have proven--over and over--to be be divisive and disruptive in this forum. Thus there is a damned good reason for that rule.
Just be cool.
Best post yet!
To those of you who might be upset about this historic Upset, try to look on the bright side. Four years of golden opportunity for the world of comedy. Alec Baldwin is likely to become rich as Trump...

OT but... I'm VERY happy about the marijuana laws changing in California! Yay!
Bernie was facing a totally rigged DNC system. Hillary has kidnapped the whole Democratic Party. The super delegates, the democratic establishment... Then the people you mentioned above... We all have too deal with the consequences of Hillary's greediness.

a dancer on here has posted some concerns regarding work, and i agree with her. i am concerned that customers will become waaay more out of line in the clubs. i can't be the only dancer thinking this? i'm already reading posts from people on my fb about poor treatment they are encountering since this election.
The electoral college vote "all or nothing" has to be changed. They should dividd the electoral college votes proportionally. I am sure there are some people in Texas wanted hillary and some people in California wanted Trump. Will they do that? I doubt it. Both parties want it remain the current way so some time it can work magically for their own interests.

As long as we have been granted the latitude :
So far , the best analyses of why Hillary LOST ( and she lost more than Trump won imho ) can be boiled down to a much lower turn-out for her than for Obama. Just look at his vote totals vs. hers ? Why ? A BIG reason , not the only one but a big reason is revealed in the Wikileaks e-mails : The way Debbie Wasserman Schultz , Donna Brazile and the rest of the DNC conspired with a few useful idiots in the media to help her beat Bernie Sanders. Bernie's voters were able to read those e-mails and a lot of them were pissed. Now if you look at states that Trump won like Ohio , Pennsylvania and Wisconsin there were a lot of working class votes that would have gone to Bernie. Those voters either stayed home or voted for Trump. Trump echoed a lot of the protectionist and pro worker rhetoric that they had heard from Bernie and that Hillary never bothered with.
Couple that with increased Obamacare premiums and the e-mail and Clinton Foundation scandals and it is clear why SHE LOST. And she lost fair and square. She won 20 states plus D.C. Trump won 30. She did win the popular vote by about 200,000 votes . Compare that to Obama's margins over McCain and Romney .
The biggest reason Obama won in 2008 and 2012 was Barack Obama. He is great campaigner and had an excellent campaign staff. Without him on the ballot as in 2010 and 2014 the Dems got clobbered. Since Obama took office the Dems have lost over 3,000 Governorships , Senate seats , House seats and seats in State legislatures.
While I do not like Hillary I did feel sorry for her. It must have been devastating to wake up Tuesday morning thinking you were going to win ; everyone saying you were going to win ; the exit polls looked great and then as the returns came in it was pretty clear pretty soon she was in trouble. With Trump it was apparently the opposite. He expected to lose . In a close election but all the tea leaves were saying he would fall short. It wasn't until about 9:30 that things perked up and his camp realized he could win. And both of them have been very gracious. So has Obama and he is definitely not a happy camper because he knows that every single one of his Executive Orders can be cancelled out by Trump signing an Executive Order. The Dems were warned that what was good for the goose would be good for the gander and that a Republican President would use the same latitude that Obama did. Remember when he said he could not change Immigration Policy with just a "stroke of his pen" ? And then a year or two later he did just that. And Trump has an unassailable Constitutional argument that what he is doing is perfectly proper because he is simply undoing Obama's unconstitutional overreaching. The Dems are also kicking themselves for changing the Filibuster Rule on Presidential appointments. A simple majority is all that is needed ; not 60 votes.
The bottom line is that a number of very smart people have been telling the Dems for years NOT to nominate Hillary. Too many negatives - too many lies - too much stonewalling - too much insider and corrupt dealing with The Clinton Foundation - too old - too sick ( she is NOT a well woman ) - too detached . Well they did in a rigged process that was designed and implemented to coronate her. As a result they alienated a good part of their own base and they lost.
