My moms an amazing cook but we are both trying to be healthier..she's paleo (totally gluten intolerant) and I lean towards paleo but it's mostly just refined sugars/high fructose/tons of bad fat/simple carbs I don't want. Plus I wanna make food she can eat when I go over thanksgiving and xmas .
So just healthy alternatives to good holiday type foods I guess! Or how you deal w trying to stay healthy w all the cookies and shit lol.
I found coconut milk egg nog at market basket and it's the bomb..it taste just like normal egg nog only not as super thick.
I also do a "crust-free pumpkin pie" that's basically a delicious pumpkin spice custard made w eggs, coconut milk, honey, and real pumpkin. So it's actually good for you as well as amazing
im trying to find a healthy gingerbread/ginger snap cookie recipe ..I loooove cheesecake and I found a recipe for avocado cheesecake that I want to try lol, it's green but it looks good.

I saw a pumpkin pie that had a crust made from crushed pecans and maybe other nuts. I think if they're ground finely enough the natural oils act to bind it and you could also add melted coconut oil to bring it together as a crust.

Pinterest is great for good recipes..anything I feel like eating (sugar cookies, cheesecake, pudding' etc) I just go in there and look up the sugar free/healthy/paleo version and you can find practically anything! Esp nowdays that there's been a surge in healthy eating interest.
I just went out and got coconut flour, honey, almond milk and substitute that in a lot of recipes too. Arrow root powder is great for thickening and gravies and healthy!
Trying these next. Coconut sugar, never heard of it before! http://www.glutenfreebaking.com/grai...sugar-cookies/

Just found an amazing smoothie recipe. It's a kickass immune system boost but also tastes amazing:

2 medium seedless peeled navel oranges
    2tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp grated peeled fresh ginger
    1-3 tsp pure maple syrup
    3-5 ice cubes
    Pinch of cayenne pepper
    Handful kale or spinach

It's legitimately one of the tastiest things I have drank. Also fresh ginger is surprisingly cheap (the chunk i bought cost 7 cents lol...) so a great thing to keep around and toss in all kinds of stuff. Fresh ginger has a lovely sweet "fresh" taste, nothing like the ground spice.
