Hey girls,
Does anyone else have issues getting car insurance? I dont use the vehicle for business or even commuting but because of the industry I select (Entertainment) I either am refused or its stupidly high. Can anyone advise? Thanks x

Customer service hunny.

its the industry that I am getting stuck on rather than the job title![]()

Try health, you're a drama therapist ^_^

If it's not used for work then I don't think it really matters?

Never ever put entertainment lol!
My friend does graphic design, if he puts that then gets a good quote, if he adds it's graphic design for the music industry then boom less options and more money. Like any job is secure lol

I've just had my renewal notice (like hell I'm paying that much!) and couldn't remember what I told them...apparently I'm an unemployed housewife.

what happens if you put down something like gouverment!? and your not!? would they ever find out? like IF an accident was to happen?
i have just renewed my car insurance but i'm down as entertainment! might have to amend this!
xx

The thing is, its all well and good embelishing the truth to get a cheaper quote, but god forbid you have a crash, your insurance will be void.
My friend put hairdresser on hers, they found out she was a mobile hairdresser and void her policy after she had a crash. She was at fault, so ended up with no car, and having to pay damages to the other party.
I've done it myself in the past, but won't anymore. It's not worth it.

This might be worth a look...although you need to be honest about your employment, you can choose a relevant job title that may be cheaper (although the difference between mobile hairdresser and salon hairdresser is relevant to the amount of driving while on business). http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/ins...icker/#sectors
I can't find entertainment as job on there. Do not choose exotic dancer because apparently that is regarded as high risk. There is Counsellor and I wonder if that is closest...I certainly see a lot of what I do as falling into this category even though it's acting out in most cases, some therapies involve that. I'm think about the fetish side of our work in particular. Unless they've changed the law recently, anyone can call themselves a Counsellor as it's not a regulated profession but I do hold Counseling qualification, which would come in handy if ever questioned.
