OK, so my first night at Mr. Wedge was great. I made around 225 that night. I also gotta girl to show me the ropes a bit, pretty much taking me under her wing. The next night, not so much. I think yesterday was one of my off days and I only made about 100, after giving a manager a 50 fine. He had tried to put me for an extra set (they normally have you do 5 20 minute sets) which is a lot for me bc I don't have any kind of rhythm and another dancer confirmed that I look weird on stage. I also had a killer headache from last nights cold winds.
There were a few things that I learned from that terrible night.
-The younger guys (under 35) are ass holes and will only tip you if you are aggressive with your dance moves and approach. I don't have either advantage. It was almost as if I were invisible to anyone under 35. And that night the club had only those guys that fit that description. I even got laughed at by 2 guys bc I tried to do a little dance and I guess it wasn't too their liking. I'm also not sure if this is how it is with young guys in NYC, or just in general. Either way they are either really cheap or want someone 'experienced'
-this is definitely an urban club. Only black/spanish here.
- the club also doesn't put you on a schedule. The next time I work here I'm probably going to come in during part of the day shift and leaving around midnight, bc after that point the club is mainly filled with young assholes that want aggressive and experienced girls.
-i made a regular who tips me 50-100 but he left early last night.
-all the older customers were give me good tips and advice on how to lap dance. But they seemed to go after 12/1.30 am.
-the owner is very grabby and I've been told by one of the dancers that he may ask you for sex. He seems to have an ego and if you turn him down too harshly he will kick you out of the club. I can easily get around this one.
I'm thinking about sticking with part day shift, part night shift and taking off Wednesday's. I want to eventually try at one of the upscale clubs but I'll need a wig to cover my dreads and probably some gowns.
I figure I might alternate between this club and other. I seem to mainly get along with anyone 40 and over. Any advice on which clubs I should try out next?
