Actually chick can I get your advice oneeded specs for a 2nd laptop? It's mainly for doing my uni work so I need it to be super portable to take to coffee shops/uni etc. But I will do a little bit of camming on it too. I am only looking to spend up to £200. I thought of a chrome book cause they're brightly coloured my oh said it prob wouldn't do because it only runs on chrome and keeps everything in the cloud.

That's correct. Although chromebooks are good for light work such as writing documents they're definitely NOT suited for camming, nevermind the fact that they just lack the horsepower for that.

Does the laptop you need have to be new or can it be used? Because probably on ebay it'd possible to find something.

    Dizzy Black Friday Deals?

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to StripperWebs. I can be labelled as a cam girl but I don't do it full time and am just getting up-and-running in some areas.

I purchased a Logitech C270 a couple months ago but have been told the Logitech 920 is much better. I found it on Amazon for a great price today ($68 CDN, when it's usually between $90-$120 CDN).

I'm now looking at laptops because mine is ANCIENT....

I'm getting myself stressed out though because I'd love to buy things TODAY with all the savings still in effect. But don't know what to buy.

Is it possible to find a good laptop online for under $450 CDN? Lastly, have you seen anything cam-related on sale today that you would recommend to others?

    Thanks,
    -XO

Yeah used is fine. I'm loathe to buy something on eBay in case it's knackered though as not always sure what to look out for.

What cpu does it have? And what ram?
    3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-3210M (3.10 GHz, 3MB L3)
    3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-3320M (3.30 GHz, 3MB L3)
    3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-3360M (3.50 GHz, 3MB L3)
    3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3520M (3.50 GHz, 4MB L3, 1333MHz FSB)

Re read and you did say

    # of Cores 2
    # of Threads 4
    Processor Base Frequency 2.60 GHz
    Max Turbo Frequency 3.30 GHz
    Cache 3 MB SmartCache
    Bus Speed 5 GT/s DMI
    TDP 35 W

If you have 8gb of ram then should be if the laptops exhaust is fluf and stuff free as its likly to be running on the turbo.

I bet it does. You may not be able to split many sites but thats enough to stream with an encoder.

The tripod suggested in the article was this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...blink_id%7d%7d As for the tripod that comes with the C922 its really only for desktop. It's only 7 inches

Argos official ebay store sells used/refurbished tech with an Argos warranty. Best of both worlds. That's where my ipad came from.

Just wanted to thank KarinaGiselle and PhatGirlDynomite! After surfing the 'net on and off most of the day, I found a nice laptop at a good price. It has all the specs mentioned in the mentioned article and was on sale for $200 off. It's the ASUS Vivobook Max X541UA. Not top of the line, but capable and a definite upgrade from what I have.

I'm glad I knew what specifications to look for rather than just going by what random people had or what was popular on retail sites.

So as of 12/5/16 the first build in the article comes out to around $990. Anyone have any suggestions for getting that price down? I am building a new pc and don't necessarily need vid editing capabilities, this one would just be for (split) camming and recording webcam broadcasts. Where can I cut back to hopefully get to around $800? Thx!

    Bumping this!
Trying to find something on the newegg.com site, where I got my last lappie, a Lenovo refurb.
Trying to keep costs down, so this's a used one: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...9SIA7HS50F4111

    Or: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...9SIA7HS4ZG5661

I put in this criteria: i7 (I don't know enough about the other kinds) Win 7/8, & cpu 2.60 & above.
    Thanks!

The one for $383 is the better deal for the price. I know you're trying to keep the cost down but maybe add at least $200 more and I'd feel better about making a recommendation. It really depends on what you want to do with this computer?

Default If you had $1000+ to spend on a new laptop, which one would you choose and why?

So ladies...I'm very grateful to finally be in a position to buy a new lappy this month which will enable me split-cam and make some cool vids. Yay! My budget is about $1300 which I hope is enough, but I have no idea on which type of laptop to get

So, you could buy one laptop right now, with that kind of budget, which would it be and why? (Looking primarily to split-cam and hold video files). Thank you xx
