Default I'm 24 and already have wrinkles. :( (Pics added)

The title says it. Because of chronic stress and anxiety, I am always making weird squinty facial expressions, etc so I already have 11 lines in between my eyes. Also, because of TMJ since I was about 10, I already have a smile line on one side of my face. I always knew I was going to get wrinkles around my mouth early because of the TMJ. I am surprised that I do not have more than just the one, but grateful that it is just one instead of more. Years of TMJ also caused my lips to be much thinner when they used to be very full.

I first noticed the wrinkles when I was 22. Wrinkle taping at night has stopped them from getting worse, but it still embarassing to put tape on my face everynight around my boyfriend. Wrinkle taping reduces the wrinkles during the day, but if I go a couple nights without doing it, the wrinkles come back full force.

It is still really depressing because I did not think I would already have to start getting fillers and botox at 24 years old. I originally had the fate to age so gracefully. My mom is in her late 40's and doesn't have any wrinkles. People still think she is in her 20's. My grandma still looked like she was in her 30's when she was in her 50's. It is also very depressing because keeping up on botox and fillers gets very, very pricey and I never thought I would have to shell out so much money to get rid of wrinkles at such an early age.

I tried derma-rolling and retin-a for almost two years straight with no results. I have also been trying face yoga since the age of 22 with no results. I have been taking collagen pills for six months, but I do not think I see any results from collagen pills either.

Did anyone else have to start botox and fillers at such an early age? Am I more depressed about it than I should be?

Aw hun, I'm sorry you're dealing with stress and anxiety. I'm in my 40s and yes, I've had to get botox for about 5 years now. Some other things you can do...

    1) For stress/anxiety, pray and meditate, especially at night, You can find some good guided meditations on you tube. Meditation helps a lot to relieve stress.

    2) Exercise and drink lots of lemon water. Vitamin c helps repair skin.

I think your main issue is stress and anxiety. That will age you fast. When I'm under stress, I can see it vs. When I'm more relaxed and going with the flow. Stay out of the sun for prolonged periods and stay away from cigs and alcohol.

    Hope this helps.

You're probably just dehydrated or you go in the sun too much. No one that age should have lots of noticeable permanent wrinkles.

Thank you. I'm working on finding a medication that actually helps with my anxiety. My anxiety is what causes me to feel stressed out all the time. I do agree that stress really ages a person the most.

I drink at least eight glasses of water a day, wear sunscreen all the time, don't use tanning beds or tan outside. I think it is the stress. Suffered from anxiety since middle school but no pills help.

My cousin said Botox shots removed the "shar pei" like wrinkles she had on her forehead from chronic migraine headaches.

You can un-do some of the damage...I've had visible wrinkling go away.

Also just take a forever break from mid- day sun exposure, smoking and drinking.

Can you share pics? I'm actually really interested. I know very fair complected women can get fine lines early in life.

Also, my honest opinion is you would benefit from finding a good strain of marijuana that doesn't make anxiety worse. Get a vaporizer & learn how to toke up without ending up stoned out of your mind all day. Probably the best bet for compressing the effect of stress in your life.

You likely need pure oils on your face and in your diet.

Botox is this shit. Go get a medspa Groupon if you wanna test it out for a little cheaper first. You maybe be surprised how long it lasts, too.

Botox is awesome. However, after having botox done so many times, it seemed to work less and less, so I switched to Xeomin, which seems to work better and is less expensive. I love it for the 11s between my brows.

I've seen quite a few gals in their early to mid 20s with forehead wrinkles and smile lines..but it was mostly due to tanning and drinking/smoking/partying/sleeping in makeup and generally thinking their skin is invincible. What kind of sunscreen do you use, and how often do you reapply?? Some popular commercial sunscreens contain a derivative of vitamin a which is WORSE than wearing no sunscreen. What is your diet like? Alcohol and refined sugars dehydrate and break down collagen real quick. Are you a stomach sleeper or side sleeper?
if your genetics and lifestyle are impeccable then I'm just in shock that you would get wrinkles at 22 just from stress alone..holy crap.

It's entirely possible. I'm 27 and have horrible dark circles that just keep getting worse (I don't sleep well. and could probably drink more water.)
My friend who is 23 Has the deepest forehead wrinkles I have ever seen on a woman her age. Why? B/c she's a heavy drinker, a cigarette smoker (heavily too not just light or social) and doesn't moisturize or use sunscreen. She looks older than her sister who is 28. Also the 23 yr old friend Loves to lay out and use tanning beds. THAT SHIT IS BAD FOR YOU. PERIOD.

When I was 18-19 I went tanning almost everyday for a year trying to get super dark. I did get dark but it was honestly more so the bronzers in the lotions I was using than from going tanning itself. (i'm irish and really pale.) I started to notice a ton of freckles and stopped going tanning. (feels good to lay in those beds though.)

Look up apivita face masks .They're a greek company, I'm pretty sure you can still get it in the USA. their facial masks are the best I've ever used. They used to have a Bust mask but stopped making it i'm afraid sad, too b/c that shit was bomb. Like a boob lifting and plumping effect. It was awesome.

Sinus problems can cause dark undereye circles.

Also never go near a tanning bed. Seriously, it's not worth it, especially if you have delicate skin.

Yeah dark circles are also genetic and certain ethnicities are more prone to them. Or if you're really pale and have transluscent skin. I like the look on certain people

I look like a straight up crackhead without makeup on. I look ill. My skin is very pale/translucent actually. I've learned to take care of my skin at an early age or else I will look really old by the time I turn 40. Even though tanning beds might "feel good" I had to stop lol.

Another cool product to try, not sure if they still make it is the Roc brand anti aging pads . They come in a gold container .

Find a good medspa to go to! There are way more options than just botox and fillers. I started going to a medspa a few months ago and the first thing they did was analyze my skin with some machine thing and then proceed to tell me about all the different services they provided that would help. So far I've done hydra facials, a photo facial, and micro needling. A lot of these things can help with anti aging and wrinkles. I've also seen this medspa advertise these injections that help with TMJ or have something to do with it. Idk there's a lot more things that they offer that I haven't done.

I will say though it's only been a couple months and I feel like I'm seeing a difference already. I've done lip fillers too and everyone thinks they're natural. I'm also 24 btw. I think medspa treatments are a good investment and will help you age gracefully. I haven't done botox but I don't think I need it yet.. I'm hoping these other treatments will hold off the wrinkles. But if I did have any I would have gotten some already!

Are you getting enough iron & other important dietary nutrients?

    Also Roc products are awesome.

I'm going to try those Roc disks. They have good reviews. Our club's holiday party is this weekend, and I don't have time to get a microdermabrasion facial.

Op, have you tried microdermabrasion? That may help too.

Definitely find a med spa. You should start doing hydra facials and botox ASAP. I started botox at 25 for the lines between my brows. It's not the end of the world. It lasts very long too, at least it did on me!

It's okay. Everybody gets wrinkles at some point. And in some cultures aging is a sign of wisdom not something to fear.

Try hypnosis and/or quality OTC anti-aging products. Hyaluronic acid is supposed to be one key ingredient that helps moisturize/fill in facial wrinkles. Also eat foods with antioxidants to help minimize the effects of aging.

Other options include fillers or Botox.

And always wear sunglasses - I think constantly squinting in sunny weather causes/exacerbates eye wrinkles.

And try not to move your face as much. Like don't make exaggerated facial expressions too often cause the more you work those muscles in your face the more likely they'll form wrinkles. I think it was Kim kardashian who said she rarely smiles in her pics because she doesn't want to cause wrinkles in her face.

I forgot to add, eat foods rich in collagen & protein. Your skin needs these materials to regenerate.

Silica too, but that's kind of generic.

How did you get rid of the wrinkles if I may ask? I will add pics to my post and post them here too. You cannot see the wrinkles nearly as well in pics though. They look 3x worse in person. Excuse my chapped lips lol.

IDK if they offer Xeomin where I live, as I have not seen it listed on any websites of clinics around me, but I will still look into it more. Thank you.

Anxiety is what is causing so much stress for me, so as long as I can find something that helps for my anxiety, I think I will be much better off.

I am a high calorie, high protein vegan as of three months, but was a vegetarian for nine years before that. But up until about 22, I was not eating well at all. Very, very little protein as I have suffered from depression since about age 13 and never really cared about being healthy diet-wise. I reapply sunscreen every 2 hours if I am by windows or outside. I even have blackout curtains in my house. I sleep in all different positions but I think TMJ and my jaw always being in motion is causing the mouth wrinkles.
