Default Did your BA affect nipple sensitivity?

    Hi all,

I'm thinking about having a BA done, but I'm worried about losing sensitivity in my nipples. Did your BA affect nipple sensitivity?

Also, if anyone here is in San Diego, does anyone have any info on Dr. Robert Kearney? I looked at his website and liked his results, as I want a more natural look.

No. I went large and through the nipple (best incision ever for silicone implants btw) and the incision line (bottom of the nipple) slightly lost sensation but only like 30%. Everything else that isn't the exact thin scar has full sensation.

My doctor used the Keller funnel method so I'm assuming that if your doctor does not use that method that you'll lose more sensation because KF is very non-invasive. Also, sensation may be genetic like your nerves, etc.

It actually makes me sad because I was hoping to lose way more sensation lol.

I don't think my nipples were ever that sensitive even before my BA, but after they really weren't sensitive at all. What's funny is I just got my nipples pierced like two weeks ago and now they ARE sensitive lol.

I used to live in SD and got mine done by Pousti. Everyone thinks mine are natural (it's been 2 years) even though they're pretty big (went from B to DD). I'm not sure who Kearney is though.

^^ I've heard about Pousti. I'll check out his website. I don't want to go too big at all. I actually like my breast size (B cup) but I just want them filled out a little more and more symmetrical.

I think Pousti can do any size and make them look really natural. I literally told him I wanted to go as big as possible and he told me he would go as big as he could with it being safe for my size and my boobs are perfect. He didn't push for me to go big at all I was the one who was emphasizing big lol. Definitely check him out!

Ok I will. Thank you. He got really good reviews. Is it true he has you talk with other patients? That just seems weird to look at other patient's boobs right there in the office.

I think you can do that if you want but I never did it. But one of the girls working in his office showed me hers that he had done and they looked really good. We stepped into another room so it was just us two and it wasn't weird.

I guess it's just another way of Pousti trying to make you comfortable with choosing him and seeing examples of his work.

I see. Ok. I just don't want to lose sensitivity. I know all women don't like having sensitive nipples, but for me it turns me on and is a huge part of foreplay. (Sorry if this is tmi.) It's one of the things that have held me back.

Yeah I'm not sure. If you don't want to go much bigger than you are now and really don't want to lose sensitivity maybe you shouldn't risk it? But idk. I love my boobs and don't care about nipple sensitivity lol. And Pousti does go thru the nipple Im not sure if that has more of a risk than other incisions.

Same and same lol. He's really talented. People are shocked when I say I have implants. I can't believe I was able to go so large and still get the natural look.

Yes you can talk to other patients. I talked to two. I wasn't expecting it lol.

The benefit of through the nipple is that you can still breastfeed, it blends with your nipples, you can alter the shape or reduce the size, and if you model then you won't have any visible scarring. Some girls who get under the implant incision end up with incisions on their actual breast when the breast drops. Armpit incisions often end up with uneven breasts and isn't really an option if you want a bigger silicone implant. I'm so glad I got this incision location.

I've gotten mine done twice through areola, the sensation never changed. It was at first for about a month or two, then it went back to the way it was before.

    No problems here.

Thank you, ladies, for all your responses. The most ironic thing is that I want to get them done when I'm done dancing. I do a lot of pole tricks and I don't want to f- them up. I want them done just for me.

Not to TMI but same thing, nipple sensitivity is super enjoyable in my sex life, so I'm hoping everything remains the same

The other thing I'm scared of is having my asymmetry corrected, but winding up with wonky nipples. :-O

I just got mine done again 5 days ago (with a lift at that) and my sensitivity is still there. The last time around was 9 years ago and it took a good 2 years for it to come back. And I wanna say that not all of it came back completely, but hard to compare obviously.

thanks, it's my 3rd and best one so far. I think the part about the nipple sensitivity is a clear indicator that he is a good doc. Plus he removed leaked silicone on both sides and a 3rd stage capsular contraction on one side. And my nips are sensitive already.

I got my breast implants a few years ago when I stopped dancing the first time. It was nice to have a new pair of boobs that no one but my boyfriend had seen before, lol. Nothing wrong with wanting them all for yourself!

And yeah, my sensitivity stayed the same. My incision was through the nipple. No issues.

I did not lose sensitivity, but even before my BA my nipples weren't that sensitive to begin with, stayed the same after surgery.

I got my implants done under the boob incision and my nipples were not very sensitive before. After surgery they have become hypersensitive and are almost always erect. The week before my period or during my period they are so painfully sensitive that it turns me into an irritable grouch.

I have had 2 surgeries. First was a normal BA and the 2nd BA with lift. I don't feel like I was super sensitive before but I did notice after the 2nd one (where they did the lift) the surgeon must have cut through one of my milk ducts because it got a little weird. That one I just literally scratched my nipple with my finger nail (just in case it changed so I wasn't lying to ya'll) and felt nothing. My areola feels numb. The other side is "normal" (low feeling anyway). So, I think maybe something was severed in this surgery that shouldn't have been but I would not specifically attribute it to the implant; more to the surgeon's work.

That being said I would give up nipple sensitivity for nice tits all day every day. It wasn't ever something that "got me off" and I love my new boobs.

Nope, mine were the same as ever straight after and now 6 years later. Don't think you have anything to worry about x
