    Default swing shifts

How can you negotiate swing shifts at a club?
Like a 5 to 8 during the week, covering happy hour and dinner?
I am having trouble finding flexibility. Trying to wrap my head around how this industry has changed since I first danced, trying to figure out if I can even do this work any more....ugh ladies it's been a rough few days.

Usually at my club you can come in for dayshift and then just stay for however long. I guess it depend on the the club.

With my day job I am not off untill 4. So day shift is tough, and night shift is tough.

Emotionally I am not fairing as well this time around either; no long fearless. Maybe things have changed too much, maybe I changed too much. idk

5 to 8 is a very short shift... my club has a swing shift and its 4 to midnight. most clubs have a minimum amount of hours you have to stay and it's usually anywhere from 4 to 8 hours. some clubs let you leave whenever so long as you pay house and tip out, but ime those are rare. i feel like 5 hours is standard

That is what I was going to say. You really need to talk to management. Maybe they will let you do 5-11? Offer to work Sunday day or a double on Sunday in exchange

It really depends on the club. At most of the clubs in my city, as long as you work 5 hours, they don't really care when you come in -- though they tend to charge more the later you come in. So, here, it's no problem to work a swing shift as long as you put in 5 hours, so 4:30-9:30 or 5-10 would be fine, but 5-8 wouldn't be. Clubs in other cities have varying requirements in terms of number of hours you have to work (if any) and what times you can start a shift, so all you can do is ask at your preferred club and then work your way down the list until you find one whose scheduling works for you. In my area, the club with the most scheduling flexibility is decent, so it's rarely anyone's first choice to work at as it's a bit out of the way, but the money is still good (though perhaps the earning potential isn't as high as in other clubs), so be prepared to not be able to work your preferred schedule in your top choice.

Speak with management. Some clubs will work with you if you have school, work, or other responsibilities as long as you're pretty and pay your fees regardless if you make money or not. You have to let them know that even if you don't make any money, you will be bringing your shift fees with you to pay.
