Default How do you prepare for a new year of business?

I'm not talking about New Years Resolutions here, I'm talking about preparing for a new year of business!

What rituals and protocols do you follow to prepare for a new year?

I do several things during the month of December. I write reports as I would for any small business even though I am the only one that sees them.

    • Create a new copy of the earnings tracker and switch everything to 2017 dates.
    • Review my earnings for the previous year and add them to my comparison chart.
    • Empty my camming binder of the previous years things and fill it with the new years items.
      • Calendar for each month with special dates and pay periods clearly marked
      • A motivational quote for each calendar page
      • Daily, weekly, and monthly check lists

    • Look at goals from this year and figure out which ones got met and which ones didn't.
    • Write a report outlining reasons why I did or did not reach my goals.
    • Create a new goal list.
    • Get files in order for taxes
    • Move 2016 content to an external drive to keep space freed up on my machine.

I would love to know what you do!

You listed a lot of things that I have not thought about doing but now want to try.

For me, December is my serious hard core internal debate month. Meaning that I take a look at my earnings tracker and the weekly goals that I set for myself as far as earnings and content production then seriously ask myself how I did. If I didn't live up to my goals, why? Not the bs or sugar coated answer that I might give my guy when I am complaining about my earnings but the hard cold truth. THEN I try to come up with at least 3 plans for each answer to keep them from happening in the future. Like if I start doing a particular bad habit or procrastination in the new year then I will implement plan A that I have written out, if that doesn't work then plan B and so forth.

It is always a work in progress but I always feel successful if I have been able to improve on 1 thing every year and stick to it.

I LOG ON , That's how I prepare.. I don't do anything special.. I am not very office or technical.. no spreadsheets or trackers etc etc.. Maybe I don't need them? I am already tracking on my calendar daily.. yea this is why I didn't make it as a receptionist or any other office work..lmao

Staples, I have never thought about theese things.
I will clearly follow some of them.
2017 is the year when i am buying my own house + a new car so i need to watch the earnings closely, since I am going to pay for them every month and i am not the type of person who is living of earnings from month to month.
I am used to save and spend too, besides my monthly bills.
-So, I will probably do some spreadsheets with some basic goals that can cover my ass, in general.
-I will also rethink the strategy in camming. Seems what I am doing now is not bringing me a good income anymore so I will have to get out of my comfort shell and try new things, new sites, new hustle.
-For twitter, I'd love to gain 20k followers this year and become more popular. I am at almost 5k right now.
-I'd like to start an instagram and snapchat account too.
-Be more active on social media, overall.

Thank you guys for the awesome ideas. I've been camming almost 10 years now and never thought to do those things. The IRS is up my ass now because I've fallen behind on filing lol.. I owe them a shit ton of money. So thanks for the organizational ideas! Also, what is this earnings tracker you guys use?

^ That is what I'm afraid of too bc even tho this was my first year camming & I didn't make a ton ,I still don't have anything saved up to pay them when I do file In April. How did they start harrassing you if you don't mind me asking? I'm scared of them freezing my bank account if I don't pay alot upfront :/

I'm also just gonna log on & have daily or weekly goals for myself to get whatever I need.

Oh they send you plenty of warnings. I just didnt get them because my address changed. As long as you contact with them and work with them you'll be fine. Also, hire H&R block. It can be expensive but they give you a guarantee and you get representation in case you get audited or whatever.

I am thinking you guys use Excel? I actually just wrote it all down by hand. The week, the $ I made, the hours I worked, my average paid % for that week and also my average hourly wage for that week. AND HOLY SHIT. I am fucking LAZY as hell. I need to seriously get off my ass. No wonder I am always broke and cant fix my cars. I worked 390 hours last YEAR and the most I ever worked was 21 hours ONE time. One week. Most other weeks were under 10, some far under.. some I didnt work at all. I basically should have worked over 1,000 hours more. I am sooooo lazy. Wow serious wake up call!

Someone somewhere (I feel awful I can't remember her name to give her credit) created an awesome earnings tracker. I've been using it since 2014. Every year I open a blank copy and change all the dates for the new year. I usually send it several other girls here. I've got one more month to change and then I'll share it with anyone who wants the updated copy and by then I'll have the name of the girl who made it originally so I can give proper credit.

Thank you! I knew it started with a T but that's all I could remember. I still use her old one I'm not as big a fan of the universal one so I just change it every year. Idk why lol I know the universal one is easier.

I love the checklist idea! I started to work on a camming binder myself this year, but I got thrown off track.

Two of my main objectives for this upcoming year is to be online more, now that my daughter has finally got her license I can be and then to market myself more.

I came across this template for social media marketing and planning. Which I think will be helpful for me, so I can plan in advance.

That looks like a great template. I'm adding it to my bookmarks to further examine later this week. Thanks!
