I had my mine put in about a year ago. In the past year I gained 30lbs (120 to 150) I am down to about 140lbs right now but the weight looks good on my hips and ass. I believe the weight gain came from my out of control diet and the lack of exercise in the past 6 months. I had only gained 10lbs for the first half of my experience with mirena. I have set my target weight at 135. I get the same pregnancy symptoms about every 3ish months I skip a period and my breast size increases. To be honest I had horrible periods before mirena. I would have my period for 2+ weeks and it would be heavy flow the whole time. Mirena is known to produce pregnancy symptoms and to completely stop periods after a year of use. Every few months I will get crampy dull abdomen pain when I have the pain I debate taking it out but when it goes away I no longer want to take it out. Lol.

Have you previously tried other forms of birth control? Mirena is my first go around with bc so I am not sure if the symptoms I have would persist if I was on another form. I am not a consistent person so I would probably forget to take the pill and I would rather not chance it. I would have a visit with your doctor to see if there is a better option for you.

Im going back for one this year if allowed bc I will be 40.

My first round I had zero complications.
I did not have a period fir 5 years
I kept in in over 5 years. I actually lost weight on it

I gained massive weight the moment I took it out.
My periods now are like god parted the red sea with tornadoes ripping through my body.

I cant take pills, I forget. I have a child to prove this
I know ur asking for negative but its rare to meet others that have had this procedure
Mine was a success but this next round might be bad bc of my age?

Even if the side effects I'm facing subside with time, I don't think I'd get another one. The pain during insertion was worse than child birth for me.
My obgyn put mine in. He gave me muscle relaxers, had me come in and the procedure was great. I had a lot of the symptoms you speak of so he saw me weekly. I lived within 5 mins. He was great to me.
When I became more sexually active,I started to spot on occasion after sex, one guy ripped a condom on the string so I went in and had to have the string snipped more. Guys were still complaining their dick was being pricked (lol). I couldn't get in with anyone so he referred me to a female obgyn. OMG, it felt like a full blown abortion. IT HURT.
I would say to try and ride out the symptoms, mine lasted for about 6 months bc if removing is worse than the procedure, you might want to hold off. they say it doesnt hurt, just a little tug. bullshit, I also have a high pain tolerance, higher than the average so when i say it hurt, my god, it hurt.
basically my only issue was the dick pricking but I think a big dick caused it to act funny for everyone else

Add to say Im getting this redone bc my periods are insane these days. The week before my period, I rage. The week of, Im flooding out tampons left and right to the point I cant cam bc within minutes Im changing to new. I have massive blood clots that come with excruciating pain. During Mirena I had no symptoms and no periods, i was happy. I know this is TMI but damn, Im going back to it to stop the new period symptoms I have.

I hated mine. Gained 15 pounds in 3 months and got migraines 4 times a week. It also caused acne which I never have. Worst thing about it is my doctor basically told me I was full of it because "those aren't side effects it must be your lifestyle." Yea, sure out of the blue I changed lifestyles.
