    Default St. James Houston

Am curious about working there, and checked out the club reviews. I'm thinking of going to Rick's in DFW, but it would be nice to have a local spot as well and it seemed chill with high end clientele, but I had a couple of questions for anyone who's been there:

No forty girls there too. -

So do they only hire young? I've only worked at one club (in Los Angeles, which has a diversity of ages 18-40+, and it's a high end club), but from my experience of visiting other clubs there was an age range since not all guys are into 20 somethings.

It costs $300 to get your work permit, you will make it back that night. -

Do you need a license to dance in Houston now?

I like the idea that it's away from central Houston (less chance of being caught by people I know), but I am not a 20 something chick - I don't consider myself old and ugly lol - but I don't want to waste my time if that's their requirement.

    Thanks!

I worked at St.James as a waitress for a while.
The age group varies.. the oldest I've seen there was maybe 40/45(seriously) but most of the girls are young. They all have different body types.
Yes it does cost 300 for your permit. You have to get a background check done(no refunds if they deny your permit) . I even had to have one to waitress. The manager told me I'll make it back that night by waitressing. I didn't. I didn't stay long there, but a girl that started the same night I did is there and she said it's super slow. It didn't pick up for the Super Bowl either. I know you posted this a while back.

It's the only club where you need a permit, but you have to go there and get hired first because 1. it would be a waste to get it first and not get hired, and 2. they need to approve your name first because the license has to have your dance name on it, and it costs like 25 to change it and a whole other appointment at the sheriffs office.

I didn't mind having to get the license but you have to wear it while you work, a lot of girls attach it to their arm with these bands, and I just think its super weird because your legal name is also on there for everyone to see.

I would say the girls all look young. I mean I think there were a couple older ones on dayshift but the night time, everyone seemed in their 20s or if they werent they looked it.

They were picky about tattoos and stretch marks and scars but I guess it depends on who you get. When I got hired I didnt even take off my jacket the manager just asked me if I had any tattoos (I said yes one on my back) and he wanted to see it and asked me questions about the meaning behind the numbers/words. But the general manager yanked me off stage one day saying I had to change because my love handles were showing and it was "extremely unflattering". And I saw another girl get auditioned and it consisted of her getting into her bra and panties in the entrance (like not the club itself, just that room where the door girls are where customers first come in) and the manager (different one than I had) asked her about some burn she had on her inner thigh that was barely noticeable I thought and said she needed to tone up because the GM was very picky but she would let her work if she promised to work on it.

When was this and what was the money like? Are they still requiring Texas licenses and for you to live close by?

This was earlier this month, like leading up to the Superbowl. Yes you still need a Texas ID. Unless things changed from the superbowl, which I doubt. I dont think you need to live close by, but if you have a Texas ID you could always lie and say you just moved to Houston. I was only there a few days leading up to Superbowl and Superbowl. The money seems like it is normally good there, but I think some girls were complaining because they werent making their usual money because the whole week was so jam packed with girls.

I thought the full nude clubs inside city limits required permits/licenses too? But full nude isn't my thing, so pretty much everything about them might have changed without my noticing.

How big is the license? And does it have to be visible or can it be in some kind of cover/case? I certainly don't mind having to carry it on my person, but if it has to be plainly visible... Well, that's just not safe in my opinion.

The whole tattoo situation is something that I keep hearing conflicting things about. I was always given the impression that, because it's one of the more upscale places, that tattoos would be frowned upon. Then I met a dancer with full sleeves, plus other tats, that worked there and was reassured that they like having a variety of different girls/looks - you just have to meet the rest of their hiring standards (well maintained hair, fit body, no scars/stretch marks.) Everything I see on this forum makes it sound like they're anti-tat, though?

How the hell do you work that main stage, though?! I've never worked at a club without a pole on the mainstage, so I have no idea how to work a stage like that without it getting monotonous.

If you work in a restaraunt, you wear skid resistant shoes and a uniform.
If you work in a strip club, you wear 7" stilettos and lycra g-strings.

I love clubs without poles. You just sway and make eye contact.

Hi all! I worked at st James years ago when it was one of the few that didn't need a license. Now it's one of the few that does. I just started dancing again and worked at a club near st James and ran into one of my old regulars from there. He gave me the scoop- from a VIP customer point of view- and basically the manager Ron (might be the GM but was a bartender back when I worked there before) was an Asshole about stuff mentioned above and has started driving people away. He said its mandatory for the dancers to tip out 20% and the managers actually go around checking up on dancers earnings (even going up to customers to ask) which is crazy if you ask me.

I worked at St James for almost 3 years and lived it. But it was different management then. What I liked about it is the owners try to keep it classy so you don't see employees and customers doing lines out in the open like I've seen at most other clubs I've worked at. The owners are an old retired couple and pretty nice. There son was the GM when I worked there and was evidently why the place got raided a few years back (DEA, FBI Etc). Anyway, when I worked there they were strict about tats, but that might have changed.
