Default Endometrial ablation to stop period?

Has anyone had this procedure done? I have very heavy bleeding and extremely painful periods. I can't take the pill (tried multiple times) and I don't want children ever. My 7 day long heavy periods are such a fucking dramatic event that I've even considered getting a hysterectomy. I came across this procedure that essentially evaporates the uterine lining via heat, freezing, laser, etc. It sounds scary and painful but so are my periods... thoughts?

Evaporates the uterine lining...This is alone sounds disgusting.
Do you know reasons of your heavy periods? Balancing your hormones and blood circulation in your body is better than pills.

My mom had an ablation done and she is extremely happy about it. I can't remember any details about it though
Do your future self a favor and work hard now.

Ablations are effective but keep in mind you could still get pregnant, though you wouldn't be able to carry the baby to term. Per my doctor when I went for one.

It does sound scary, I have never thought of this option before! I have never wanted children and I made that clear in my mind when I was aged 14!! I am now 32 and still not keen on the idea of having them, might of been the fact when I was 19 I had a pregnancy scare and took the emergency pill as I was not protected. It scared me so much I went on the depo-provera injection for 10 years or more and have come off it due to having abnormal cells. I loved being on it as I never had periods and I felt good!

Now that has all changed I did have a period last month for two weeks and it was so uncomfortable, painful at times and made me feel moody. Ruins my day when I feel ill its dreadful x

My sister had one due to her having heavy periods, she loves it. I was looking to have the same thing because I was bleeding 3 weeks out of the month but I had to have a full hysterectomy because of fibroids and endometriosis. If you are done having children go and get it done because life is too short to be ruled by your period.

Do you know what's causing your awful periods? I have endometriosis and my doctor recommended surgery which can remove as much scar tissue and adhesions as possible and a lot of women have ablation done at the same time. I ask because with endometriosis you can still have issues even with ablation because you still have endometrial tissue in your abdomen. They have to diagnose with surgery but it's usually a one shot deal where they diagnose and use laser to remove the endometrial tissue and do the ablation all at the same time with larascopy.
