Angry *cheese* i got my photo taken and no i didn't smile

first night back at a brand new club after i left my old one and while i'm on stage, three people sitting at a table right in front of the stage (two women and a man) are watching me and having a good time. so because they were tipping and paying attention to me i decided to do a pole trick. i climbed to the top and as i looked down, one of the women took a very obvious photo of me and then quickly put her phone away. after i got off stage, i told a manager, and two managers went over to her to which she responded she didn't take any photos. i *KNOW* she took a photo of me. she very clearly held her phone low to her lap, pointed her camera at me while looking at her phone and then quickly put it up. she either snap chatted me or she put it on her instagram. i obviously do not want me being a stripper online and am very very pissed off the managers couldn't come up with anything. what if my photo does go out there? i was looking right at the camera literally looking right at the camera because i was trying to figure out what she was doing with her phone. what do i or can i even do and what can i do next time it happens???

at every club i've worked at when this happens (it happens at least once a night to one girl) you can tell the bouncer and they make the person go in their photo folder in front of them and delete whatever is there. I would be extremely pissed off at management if they didn't do that.

This is a pet peeve of mine, too. Don't these people realize, maybe we don't want this kind of stuff out there? It's such a violation of our privacy. Do we go up to them at their work and snap photos without their permission? What is wrong with people?

The bouncers at my work do the same thing too. They'll make the person take out their phone and scroll through photos and they will be forced to delete those photos. And if it pisses off the bar Patron, tough shit. People need to learn that they can't just go around snaping photos. It's so rude.

I hate this is even at my vanilla job (I made a thread about this indeed).

It makes me reconsider a disguise so complete, no one would ever suspect that is me. I need a formula to transform my looks into an exotic Celtic beauty. Perhaps dragon's blood, to make my blacken hair into a fiery red. To transform my body into thinness and elegance, elven' ashes. A morning's dew to gloss my skin, a tornado blast, to shake it well! Look, my hair! Look, my face.... my voice....!

    This exactly.

The bouncers will make them pull out their phone and open the files to prove they either deleted it or they never took the pic in the fist place.

According to an old poster Melonie she claimed that stage dancing or even private dancing in a strip club is considered a "public" venue so technically you can't expect complet privacy (like at home, bathrooms, etc) and you could be filmed at anytime. However many clubs or at least the one here had a policy against customers filming and they enforced it.

A good thing is the clubs are usually very dark so even if the customers got away with the pic of you it's probably low quality (like blurry and can't make out your face) and worst case scenario you can always deny.

I do not agree about it being public space. Esp. in Florida, a lot of clubs are considered "private establishments", I know the Cheetah clubs for example have memberships. I have also seen signs at almost every club I can think of that have signs at the door warning patrons that filing/ taking photos is not allowed... I would def. be a bit more adamant next time about making sure they go through the customers phone. They might have been easier on her cause she was a woman.

Hopefully the fact you are on the pole and upside down no one will recognize you.

If management wont, I would snatch that phone up myself and delete the photo-- and I have done it before.

uhh ive been in the club when this has happened to a few dancers by the same guy and the bouncer did nothing cuz he didn't see it happening..and the club was slow so they wanted to keep all the customers they could im guessing...but one girl finally snatched the phone out of dudes hand and deleted the photos herself. sucks when the bouncers dont have your back. but i agree with buttonpop...take matters into your own hands if this happens again (hopefully it doesnt)

This has happened to me before. The last guy that did this, I went right up to him after my stage set and asked, "Did you take a picture of me when I was on stage?" He got all nervous and said, "No, I took a picture of my friend who was tipping you on stage." Ha, nice try asshole. I scolded him and made him delete the photos of me right then and there. I don't tolerate that shit.

if there is signage posted before entering the club, there's a legal leg to stand on. unless YOU sign a contract stating explicit permission to be filmed, then they cannot take your photo. there's a way to look some of this stuff up online and i can pm you some ways that i know of to do so.

I had some guy video taping me and taking photos, the first ones he took were with the flash on too, and the club was just like, "Yeah, so?" I was mortified I instantly ran upstairs and his in the dressing room until the guy and his friend left and refused to remove anything on stage again after that...

^^^ This. Key is whether your club has a sing when people walk in the door about no video/photo. Also, key is whether your club is a "private" club.

I'm not saying this to be mean but I always felt like she and Kellydancer were kinda pushing this agenda, that stripping sucks now, and thats just how it is, glad I'm done with it. I mean, I'm not sure how to deal with all this secret pictures in the club, but it is absurd to tell strippers that taking nude photos of other people performing onstage with no consent is totally legal. That makes no sense.

i don't agree with taking pictures in the club but realistically with technology these days there is no way to prevent it 100%, you can buy a pair of glasses these days with a camera/video in them, and nobody would ever know,

and i am sure that for ever ONE person you catch taking your picture with a cell phone, there are 10-20 others that did it that you didnt catch,

in this day and age of technology nothing will ever prevent it, i would say just expect to be photographed/video recorded, disguise yourself as best possible,

Our bouncers would delete photos, but so many people automatically save all pictures and videos to cloud storage that that is not 100% effective.

It sucks. The only thing you can do I try to alter your appearance at the club. Sorry.

considering clubs do not have dancers sign a model release form nor have 2257 compliance forms, yeah not much leg to stand on. like i said in my earlier post, there are ways to find photos that may be posted to an instagram account online. it's not hard to do. then, screenshot those images and save them onto a flash drive as proof. with revenge porn laws being passed, this could have legal repercussions for customers who snap photos. it's not just dancer privacy, but also customer privacy. photos of customers winding up online could cause good spending customers who prefer discretion to not come back.
