So, I've been working at a Deja Vu club for a while now. In our contracts it states that we cannot charge below $20 for a dance, but there is nothing about charging above that, so I regularly charge $40 for dances. This week, they started doing a "special" ONCE AN HOUR for dances to be 2-for-$30. They make us all get up, go on stage and try to hustle customers. In our contract it also states that we choose to work how we want to work and that we are *never* obligated to participate in ANY club "promotions" (which is what a 2-for-$30 is!). We were called back into the dressing room and told that our contracts stated that we are obligated to do this. I figred I must have read the contract wrong, but I get home and what do I see???? The exact opposite of what mgmt told us. I'm very confused and annoyed. We are being forced to get up on stage once an hour to parade around and participate in a more expensive equavalent to DOLLAR DANCES. This has already LOST me money. I could be making $80 from those two dances, but instead I am making THIRTY. They ALSO did a special where they extended VIP time by 33% without any extra charge to the customer or compensation to the dancer.
What would you do? Is there a way I can turn this into a hustle? I'm not interested in doing 2-for-$30, but I'm also not interested in finding a new club as we literally only have 2 options in my area and one of those options isn't that great compared to this one.
