Sam38g, it's not racist, bullshit, and definitely not propaganda. It is a statistical fact that there are more impoverished black women than any other race. You don't think this spills over into sex work? Reality is ugly sometimes. There are women out here charging low rates with no upsale. Know how I know? Because I was one of them. I started at in adult work at 18. I'm in my late 20's now. First of all, I started out as an escort in a college town which let me tell you, is utter shit. Jobs were scarce, there are plenty of young people to fill the shitty minimum wage positions. Even those were hard to come by. I had no experience for higher positions. Escorting was the only thing accessible to me and there were a limited number of providers. It was still rough even with that! Pimps and other forms of predatory men love these areas as there are lots of young naive BROKE girls. I was never pimped but I've had a constant propositions and in the beginning few close run-ins. Then, most of your inquiries are coming from equally broke college boys and average Joe types. Nobody in my town really had money like that except for the government workers and politicians maybe transient business types too but I NEVER met with any. I assume they saw the lower volume high-end escorts. But the point is, I didn't have a lot of options. I had low rates not because I thought I was less desired but because I needed the money to eat and I needed it right then not 3 days later. Plain and simple.
Fast forward some years later, I'm doing better, more selective. I had a driver at the time and former escort Elle* She was the closest thing to a "friend" in the industry I ever had. She was telling me how she used to get $500 just to show up and then for the actual action she'd charge even more, then even more for more taboo acts. I was amazed and mad I was born in the wrong time!. I believe her glory days were the early 00s. I was still watching cartoons and growing into my looks at this time lol.
I could be completely wrong on this but I just can't imagine "just show up" prices flying these days. Men hate women more than ever and I've seen posts from you indicating you are also aware of this. There's just a lot of hate for women in general. This is amplified when it comes to sex workers. The risk is even higher among trans and black women. Imagine some dickhead thinks he's getting a quickie for $60 only to find out on arrival it is $160. You have to consider most women in this range are not screening. I sure as hell wasn't. With that business model, many sex workers would end up raped beaten and/or murdered. Shit, I've been abused for less, myself. Got robbed at gunpoint because this guy told me he got out of jail. I got scared and didn't want to meet him. I believe it was him that sent a buddy to rape and rob me. This year alone, in my city alone (Atlanta) two sex workers have been murdered, both black. One was only 19 ffs!I don't believe the reason is because they were upselling. I'm just saying this industry is already risky. I really cannot recommend this way of doing things, especially ones who are doing this to survive, who may not screening especially with an increasingly volatile male population. Sam, I'm speaking on what I have experienced and what I observe.
I really do think in most cases low rates or "specials" these days are for either a quick session or maybe a "lesser" action like covered oral or hand job. Again I could be wrong as I'm not in that space anymore, but I don't think so. Anyway, I stick by what I said. I encourage other black providers to the fullest. If you're escorting to supplement income or you're established or you have financial cushion some other way, please do screen as heavily as you require, please do raise your rates! But that wasn't the question. The question was, why do many black women NOT do this. My conclusion based on both life experience and observation? They are underprivileged in some way. It would be lovely if everyone could just come out the gate making bank but shit just doesn't always work that way. Hate to break it to you.
